Protecting the good bits

We are all set for the 12th march the only concern I have is attendance of the wake after the service and cremation, should I dodge it and go home or stay and eat and past time with the wider family who while know of my stroke have not seen me since my father in laws 70th birthday party. Som uncomfortable conversations

That’s something only you can decide. If it was me I would go to the wake as your wife will probably want/need your support. I imagine your father in law will be their focus and therefore your stroke won’t be spoken about much. But, even if it is you shouldn’t be worried about it. Most people, in my experience, are sympathetic and also very supportive. It will be good to catch up with the family after all that time.
