John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne sadly passed away yesterday. He was the legendary lead singer with the band Black Sabbath and a lovely man.
Though their best known song is probably “Paranoid”, and I do love that song, I will share with you another one of Black Sabbath’s song which I love possibly even more - Changes from the Black Sabbath Vol4 album.
I was so happy that he had that one last time in the spotlight at the farewell gig a few weeks ago. His contribution to the world of music and entertainment was immense, and the amount of love for him was plain to see. I’ll be listening to some Sabbath and remembering him today.
His music wasn’t my thing but I hope he rests in peace.
My hubby is in the building trade & many years ago (before I knew my hubby) did some work for him as he lived just a mile away from him. It seems his lifestyle was as mad as he appeared in public
I bought his first album back in 1970 and played it loud on a little mono record player in a bed sit in Harrow. Those were very strange days full of music, music festivals and, as I remember it, a lot of sunshine. The majority of my possessions from that era were ‘borrowed’ never to be returned.
In my teens many years ago, i worked live gigs + did the Black Sabbath one in Newcastle upon Tyne. He worked the crowd up into a frenzy + they were wild! We sure did earn our wages that night.
