No Telly -hate Glastonbury

Another update on my ongoing saga with the lap top. Boring!!! The lap top is up and running, everything else if working, but no tv connection for some reason. Looking at the tv schedule tonight does not fill me with joy anyway. I’m not a Glastonbury, EUFA football or mindless game show fan, and the paltry coverage we can get is all repeats which we saw years ago. Durhh. Thank goodness for our library which has given me something to do. We have tried to reconnect the darned machine but it keeps screaming at us ‘Do not recognise password’. It’s as bad as the old ‘unidentified item in package area.’ Look like we’ll have to ring the call centre …for the third time! Sorry folks but I’ve just about had it with technology. Promise I’ll be in a better mood tomorrow. Norma (with the screaming ab dabs)

Same feelings about Glastonbury here. Nothing to suit us on telly either.

We just binge watched 6 episodes of Code of Silence which Hilary had recorded off ITV.
We both enjoyed it, interesting plot, intriguing characters and a satisfying conclusion.
Joe Absalom made a truly scary psychopathic villain - very well played.

Hilary had eggy bread for tea, I had kippers and a soft boiled egg on toast. Hot cross bun for afters.

What a delightfully simple day.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

(I hope technology is kinder to you and you have a better day tomorrow Norma)

Hi. Not quite sure which password you mean, but can you ask for a password reset?

I don’t tend to watch the terrestrial channels much any more. I’ve got Netflix and Amazon (and umpteen other channels) if I want to watch anything on TV. My friend subscribes to several YouTube channels that show documentaries on nature/science etc and she watches those, so there’s plenty of stuff out there if you want to escape the usual servings of sport/light entertainment/Glastonbury (although there will be some acts I will be catching up on at some stage).

Like you say, the library is really useful. I can read the daily newspapers and loads of magazines without leaving my chair and they don’t cost me a penny.

Oh tv is dreadful at the moment. I haven’t joined the world of netflix, Amazon Prime etc yet (not intending to anytime soon). I tend to watch repeats or just read my book or do a puzzle now. We recently went away & never put TV on once & can honestly say I never missed it at all.

Hope you fet the laptop sorted soon. It’ll be worth it once it is done.

Have a less frustrating Sunday.

Thanks Bobbi and everyone else who has sympathised with me about the dreaded lap top. To finish it all off we gave in and contacted the help desk. It seems that we were putting in the wrong password. Not our personal one but the one that was printed on the back? of the new router! Who knew? Grateful thanks to the charming gent who talked us through it calmly (we told him we were old duffers and hadn’t got any two year olds around to help us!), we have at last got tv, for what its worth. We are by no means telly addicts, but the stuff we are **paying ** not to see is appalling. So now I am calm and serene, just about to walk round the garden and do some deadheading. I am lethal with secateurs in my hand! Happy days (for now). Norma

Hi Mrs5K, Actually I did read for most of the evening anyway. I was only out in the garden for a short while; I was lupin lopping. My lupins have gone over now and were covered in aphids and something very sticky. I have problems still with bending my head over and getting dizzy. I have fallen a couple of times when getting up too soon. So I need to be careful in the garden. And I do miss it, I’m always at peace out there. Norma

I was hoping to get out in the garden yesterday after work for a bit but it was just too hot. Maybe tomorrow when it is meant to be a lot cooler. It’s a shame you can’t get out into your garden as much as you’d like. Short bursts is probably the way to go. It is so easy to fall over isn’t it when you get dizzy. I nearly fell behind the TV the other night when I was switching it off at the wall. Thankfully managed to stop my fall otherwise I might be needing to buy a new TV now
