Deadline: 19 January 2024

Contact Details : You can email the team at social@basisresearch.co.uk with the subject ‘Stroke survey’

Research participation requests are sent to the Stroke Association from external research institutions (e.g. universities and hospitals).

We conduct checks on these before promoting but are not involved in their running. This means we cannot comment on trials and have no affiliation with them.

Have you previously had a stroke? If so you are uniquely placed to help us, by taking part in an online survey.

We are looking for people who have had a stroke to take part in an online survey. The survey is for NHSDigitrials, which is part of the NHS.

During the survey you will be shown an example letter which is inviting you to take part in a clinical trial.

You will be asked some questions about this letter, and about your health and attitudes. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes.

You can take part in this survey if you have had a stroke, you live in the UK, and you are aged 18 or over.

What is the opportunity about?

NHS DigiTrials are researching clinical trials. For this particular project, we are looking for people who have previously had a stroke to take part in a survey.

If you take part in this survey, you will answer some questions on your health and opinions, and be shown an example of an invitation letter online. We will then ask you a few short questions about the letter.

Overall, the survey will take approximately 10 minutes, and your answers will provide invaluable information for clinical trials relating to stroke and its after effects.

What will it Involve?

You will complete one online survey that will take approximately ten minutes to complete. The survey includes questions on demographics (age, gender, etc.), your health and attitudes.

It will also include seeing a letter inviting you to take part in a clinical trial and answering some questions about it.

Who can take part?

You can take part in this survey if you have had a stroke, you live in the UK, and you are aged 18 or over.

What will you get from taking part?

This is an opportunity to give feedback on letters inviting people who have had a stroke to take part in clinical trials.

This feedback will help the NHS make sure that invitation letters are appropriate and inclusive for this group.

We have produced the Clinical Trials and Stroke booklet to explain more about clinical trials and answer questions you might have about taking part. The booklet was produced with the NIHR Clinical Research Network.

Information on Research Involvement

Research Involvement is a different way of contributing to research that involves collaborating with researchers to design decisions about how research is shaped and conducted.

You do not need any research knowledge to do this, your lived experience is what would otherwise be missing. Involvement is about contributing this to shape projects in ways that create most potential to benefit people affected.
