Hi all, thank you for the acceptance. I had my CVA (stroke) at end of April. One day at a time is my philosophy and making my goals which are achievable and managable. I saw this website/forum and ive been filtering sub sections to improve my understanding of symptoms im having. The amount of information from people on here is really informative. I would like to thank you all for that. Onward and upward on my/our road to recovery.
Hi, thank you Simon. Yes, i seem to have got the hang of it. If i have any difficulty though i will ask. Its good to talk and ask if in doubt. Thanks again😉
Hi @Speckles & welcome to the club that no one really wanted to join but now we’re here we are happy that we met some great people who are full of advice.
Manageable / achievable goals are the way to go. Don’t see too difficult a goal to start with as that can make you despondent. Once you’ve achieved it you can stretch the target a bit further.
It’s still early days for you yet so be kind with yourself & patient. There will no doubt be many ups & downs along the road but with determination you will go far.
Best wishes
Ann
Thank you so much for your reply. I was and remain a very positive person which i find helps. Im off work for now so i can take my time to do the goals ive set up myself and progress when my body/time allows. Positivity has always been my philosophy. Thank you for reading.
Positivity helps a lot. Don’t rush back to work. Use the time to focus on recovery. It sounds like you’re doing all the right things.
Best wishes
Ann
Thank you Ann. I have no intention of returning back to work yet and yes I’ll be focusing on my health and wellbeing😉
Hi and welcome to this forum. We are a merry band of stroke survivors and their families and carers. We have a wide range of experience, having suffered many different types of stroke and are all experiencing very different roads to recovery. There will always be someone here who can offer you some advice and information, so feel free to jump on and ask away . Just remember to be patient and be kind to yourself.
Recovery from a stroke is a long and tiring journey and you will have lots of ups and downs but with determination and a positive attitude you are on the right road.
I hope your recovery goes well and look forward to hearing from you. Keep on keeping on
Regards Sue
Thank you Sue, yes, it will be a long and tiring road and ups & downs (which i have already had) along the way. In sure i’ll be asking q’s aplenty!!
