New symptoms 😥

I had a stroke In my sleep in Sept 2024; not anywhere near as bad as some people had, no real symptoms since then except for some eyesight issues, and heavy eyes quite often, no migraines or headaches since then.

But today I have had a muzzy headache all day, not bad but enough to be annoying , especially when I bend down, very disappointed, I hope this isn’t a another stroke coming!

@injerbreck99 Being a stroke survivor, A stroke is a stroke. Its a brain injury and do not let anyone undermine yours.

Thursday 29 January is Stroke Prevention Day.

@Injebreck99

Have a blood pressure check if you can. I think you can get this done at a pharmacy (in many supermarkets)

If anyone knows better please add to what I’ve suggested or correct me.
I’ve had a stroke but I certainly don’t know it all.

How is your today?

We automatically assume the worst. But it could also be for the better. I’ve had similar off days in the past. And when its over I’ve felt something has changed in me. It’s not always been a noticeable change but could have been something more internal at the time, such as when my cognition was switched back on, although that was noticeable for me. But that’s a few years ago now, I’m now 5yrs post stroke and I’m still finding improvements.

The change, improvement, it can be much less noticeable immediately after but you may gradually realise your thinking process has improved for instance or as with me, an improvement in my speech. It could be something in your vision, hearing, mood, general temperament, the speed in which you do things, coordination, etc etc etc. and it could be weeks before you realise this marked improvement or somebody else might first.

Or it could just be from a particularly taxing few days you’ve had, brain fatigue, it is a thing! It’s put you in a bit of fog to slow you down so it can rest and catch up.

If you feel it’s getting worse then I think you should at least see your doctor but a trip to A&E would be the quickest option, despite the waiting time, to getting an answer the soonest. Besides, gp’s can’t see inside your head, hospitals can.

I am having a second good day in a row. I also am aware it can change at any minute, but right now it feels nice . Good luck to everyone

That could actually be because your brain has made an improvement somewhere :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: It’s always a good time to test your limits to see what might have improved

I can’t improve on what emerald eyes has said . I get similar and come to the same conclusion. Interesting and so good we share here it’s always good to hear when others get similar- reassuring.
Nice when u get a good day too - enjoy that without worrying.
All good to hear thanks.

It could just be a headache like you would have had in the past. We all get them at times but I understand your worry. I went through the same worry for months after my stroke. I get a fuzzy head when I have overdone it. Have you had a busy few days?

Hope it has eased for you now but if it gets worse or doesn’t improve then get checked out.
