Michael is a Sheffield lad and a fan of Sheffield United but, apparently, has a soft spot for Wednesday.

Hey @JohnnyBoy81 - The time on my hands comment was about me (in case of misunderstanding) :slight_smile:

You play the game as you see fit - this is the fun part of being a stroke survivor and/or carer. We can do pretty much what we like as long as we remain polite, respectful, stick to the official forum rules and don’t fall foul of the moderators :slight_smile:

I am sure all your names have been noted and when @Gnasher declares the game complete, your contribution of the game will be fully included.

Btw - as you are doing a ROI theme - I would like to add
L = Liam
The great Liam Brady. I seem to recall he either scored or assisted in a famous FA cup final goal playing for Arsenal against Manchester United in the late 1970s. But maybe he just scored a [few] great goals that season and of course he used to play with his socks down!!

@ManjiB , yeah, good player. My mum didn’t like him because of the goal he scored against Man Utd. A great player for Rep. Ireland though. He scored in many crucial matches internationally. Shame we didn’t qualify for many tournaments though.

M = Malky (Malcolm)
Malcolm George Mackay
The name rings a few bells - slightly controversial figure?

@ManjiB , a good mention. Edward “Teddy” Sheringham had a resurgence at Man Utd. I’ll remember the goal against Bayern Munich.

@ManjiB , another “M” to mention, Michael Carrick.

Owen Goal. Never saw him play but heard he was okay.

Sandy MacIver, is one of the league’s most exciting goalkeeping prospects.

@ManjiB , aye. Good mention. A great South African football.

Teofilo Cubillas - any Scottish people on here will remember him.

@wolfie , some pervious answers, Henrik Larsson (Celtic and Man Utd), Laurent Blanc (French World cup winner), Bastian Schweinsteiger (German World Cup winner). I’m struggling with U and V but, for W- Wilfrid Zaha.

Uli Hoeness - ex West Germany and Bayern player.

Vincent Kompany - ex Man City captain, now Bayern manager.

  • W- Wilfrid Zah noted already
  • Xabi Alonso: World-class midfielder and highly successful manager who played for Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.
