I have been recovering well since my first stroke last September, but yesterday I was working on my Bel Air in the garage when I realised my eyesight had become blurry, no other symptoms., it went off after a couple of hours, then this morning I found zi had a headache, not terrible but enough to be annoying when I moved my head, my eyesight wasn’t good either, my wife insisted in A&E just before lunch , more tests, blood tests CATscan , nothing showed up, the doct didn’t seem too concerned at all. We came home , went to bed for a couple of hours, headache still there but no worse and vision now ok, I am concerned as the first symptom when I had my stroke and it doesn’t usually last this long, just short background headaches normally since first stroke , should I be worried?
Hello @Injebreck99 .
It would be normal to worry. You’ve done all you can to expel it. What else can you do? The brain is a law unto itself and I know mine has continued to do weird things since my stroke in June 23. Most of us will always be in recovery mode for a very long time, if not forever. I’m still getting used to it. Sorry I can’t offer anything more helpful
Trace
@Injebreck99 perhaps you had overdone it a bit & some fatigue has crept in cauaing your symptoms.
If you have been checked & they haven’t shown anything that should reassure you a bit. Headaches, for me are extremely common since my stroke. I used to worry about them all but less so now.
If things don’t settle then you should get checked again but try not to worry in meantime as that won’t help your headaches.
Best wishes
Ann
It happened again this morning, felty ok at first, then headache, then very slight numbness of right hand, which is a first, always left before, also slight slurring of speech, it only lasted a few minutes, then disappeared again!
I had an unexpected follow up phone call this afternoon from the stroke clinic, told me to tale 4 Clopidogrel straight away, expect a follow up appointment at hospital Monday or Tuesday!
Sorry to hear you’re having continuing issues. Good that they have got you an appointment to be checked out so quickly. Fingers crossed all goes ok for you x
The unexpected call and follow-up appointment suggests they may have an update for you. This would be a good sign as you can be better informed and a targeted treatment plan can be put in place.
I would suggest you do not hesitate if you get new symptoms - call you GP or the NHS 111 service and get it assessed by a healthcare practitioner.
Also are you possibly dehydrated?
Hope all goes well when you go for your appointment.
