Thanks Lorraine good advice as usual.
I don’t usually have breakfast..
Bread bungs me up and I have to watch what I eat due to having dual ibs.
What I will probably do is walk after my dinner.
I have to tell myself what I’m going to do everyday or my downer will kick in.
Also I can only go walking if my foot isn’t swollen and turned in a way I can’t flatten it.
I understand that you are guiding me after your experiences and letting me know what works.
What you don’t understand manjib is that I am looking for people at the same stage of their stroke as me, Lorraine is alot further on than me.
Understand now
I have written a new post so it said Lorraine
That’s a big mistake, certainly with taking medications and I’m assuming you are taking things like blood pressure tablets, blood thinner etc in the morning. Won’t that aggravate your IBS?
Also, I think you may have misunderstood me about making a new post. So, perhaps if were suggest you start a whole new thread, give it a title like Anyone else at the same stage of recovery as me, or something along those lines.
And maybe using/copying over the content from this one:
See if you can get some more members to contribute more responses, what do you think?
Lorraine
This site is like a minefield to me I wrote about needing people in first year of stroke and it said new something at the top.
I had to give it a title then write whatever.
I have no idea where it went .
That manjib guy obviously didn’t read what I put properly.
I have no idea what to do on this community thing. It’s doing my head in.
When it comes to my ibs it’s fine I haven’t had breakfast for years can’t be bothered due to my depression caused by having my daughter taken away from me years ago.
I don’t know what I would do without you Lorraine.
Someone said about doing a zoom chat but I can’t as my dad’s always around and he’s nosey.
Fact is that without you around I would have had enough of everything so thank you so much
Put it this way Lorraine I have a splint i don’t want to wear but according to my physio last week it’s the only thing that will stop my toes curling and foot turning nothing else.
Fed up isn’t even close
John
Sorry love I’ve had a bad day today.
My leg has been stiff and foot turned sideways no matter what I do even after the exercises.
When I open my fingers my wrist is a L shape with my hand.
Basically my physio has left me to it.
I don’t know how or if that community team is going to contact me so am doing the exercises I told you about day and night.
And follow your advice as much as I can.
Hope your ok.
Weekends are always bad for me but my online friends keep me going.
All over the country and all ladies John’s angels I call them
Did you press the blue +Create button at the bottom of your screen when done with your post? I have my screen set to Latest posts and I’ve not anything new from you and looking at your list of Activity you’ve not created anything new since this one on 21 Apr.
Anyway, no need to apologise for anything, sorry I couldn’t reply sooner, I just had to go pick up my son. And now I’m trying to catch up ![]()
I can understand how much you must miss your daughter, but maybe her not being with you just now is a good thing for both of you. Have you ever considered that?
I know idea how old she is, but could you honestly cope with a daughter in your current condition. You clearly struggle at times getting on with your dad, could you honestly cope with having your daughter around?
I can certainly appreciate how weekends and holidays can be hard when you can’t get out and about and do much for yourself at the moment. But that will change and improve in time. Have a little faith in yourself and all that all you can do to improve your lack of ability.
You can’t change the past, but you can certainly shape your future by striving to work hard on improving what you’re living with today, tomorrow, next week. Your life is what you make of it ![]()
Lorraine
From here i don’t know what to do to create a post.
I didn’t get notified of your last message?
My daughter is about 36
Just clicked help and advice and it said sign up?
I already have so it’s faulty
Now I’m getting really pigged off with this site
Just below the purple banner click on this symbol
to create a new Thread/Post.
Then just fill out the Title, what Category (or just leave it Uncategorised). Write out your text where it say Type here and click on Create Topic when you’re done
Now I do know that sometime last year Admin put in Post Pending security measure which may delay the actual post appearing right away.
@Anna_Moderator may know more about that. But, being a bank holiday weekend, she probably won’t respond until Tuesday.
Lorraine
That is exactly what I filled in love
Anna is stupid if it’s a box you have to write in.
I did a search for how to create a post and it didn’t know
Don’t bother with the login on the Help pate, that’s an artefact from their old website design. I’ve already reported it and how it will confuse new stroke survivors already struggling to navigate the site. Unfortunately these things take a loooong time to be corrected

Anyway, this is what you see when you click on the Help link and from there, either key a search command or just scroll down Learn more about, How to use the Online Community
Lorraine
I clicked on that and it couldn’t answer my question.
Stupid as mud
What device are you using.
