If the exercises are causing you pain you probably do need to stop at the level that you’re at or reduce them for a little while until the pain has gone away. The squats will help both of your legs and it’s important to exercise both as equally as you can.
It does sound like your brain is trying to rewire its lost connections as you are getting some movements in your fingers and thumbs. Hopefully this will continue and improve over the coming weeks and months.
When I do 1 leg stands I bend my knee after counting 5 then stand at 10. I do that at count of 15 and 20 too as I think it will build muscle in my legs
You’re squats are probably just getting too easy for you. Either take a week off from doing them. Muscle work does need a few days off once a month to avoid these plateaus. When you go go back to it, you will certainly feel it next day. So you’ll know the muscles are growing a little bit more.
That’s also why body builders will do upper one day and lower body the next. It allows muscle to rest and repair themselves. And between that and high protein diet That’s what gets the muscles growing. But I think you know all that anyway🙂
It does sound like good things are happening with connectivity to your arm and leg. All that hard work is finally paying off
If you are having a break at the weekend then that should be ok as you are giving uiur muscles chance to recover.
It is hard to keep going if you have a break. I have found that myself at times. I just tell myself though that I won’t improve of I don’t keep motivated to try.
Hi Anne just to let you know that I have a feeling my tennis elbow is easing. Still get the odd elbow pain and my shoulder clicks but it’s ok when I’m walking
Hi Anne. I don’t think the tennis elbow is going to go. My elbow hurts when I move it . And my arm between my shoulder and elbow hurts sometimes too. I’ve been trying to walk without the stick on the floor but I think that’s not helping the tennis elbow.
I was wondering what did you do to get to the stage of not needing foot splint and how long did it take?
Tennis elbow can take many months to resolve & you need to rest it from time to time too. Using a stick won’t help your tennis elbow. Perhaps try walking without carrying the stick at all. Start slowly and make sure you are near a wall ir furniture do you can hold on if necessary.
I only wore my foot splint when moving around initially. It wasn’t helping me so I just took the decision to stop using it. I do still wear it occasionally as it does help lift my toes stopping me standing on them. But you have your splint to help keep your foot straight so until you achieve that I guess you need to continue wearing it. You need to check with your orthotics people.
Hi Anne thanks for advice. I walk without stick in kitchen both ways at the moment. Without my splint my foot turns inwards so am trying to find a way to get it to stay flat. I do have a stretch band rolled up which I think is medium but not sure it will help.
Hi Anne tried a wheat bag and it wasn’t bad but didn’t stay warm so ordered a different one.
Also arranged an appointment with orthotics as the top of my splint has stretched and is too wide I’m also collecting my other one and asking about orthotic insoles.
