Hello i had a stroke just before Christmas and received emergency treatment to remove a clot which i believe i had a Thormbectomy on coming out of recovery i felt great and had full mobility until i awoke at 2am with the feeling of pins and needles down my right side but i could still move and with no affect to my speech . After 6 day in hospital I was discharged still with the feeling of pins and needles down my right hand side after a day or so my condition worsened and i have received great support from my GP with changes to my medication to help but after 3 months from my stroke i feel worse than when I was discharged from hospital i would be so grateful from anyone who has experienced the same type of stroke i have been told that I may not fully recover but may be easier to live with i would appreciate any help as this is driving me mad thank you Frank Williams.
Hi Fran. Every stroke is different. Mine was five years ago and affected my left side. At first ai had pins and needles on several parts of the left side of my face and in my left hand fingers. The brain can re-wire itself and my face is more or less feeling normal however, I have the sense of a frozen shoulder although I have good shoulder movement. My left hand still lacks sensitivity and a sense of fine pins and needles, but is fairly usable. My left leg feels okay, but I have some drop foot.
Infound physiotherapy and exercise useful, but I have learnt to live with a certain amount of disability. I keep working at improvement, but remind myself that stroke is a brain injury not an illness. My key message is improvement can be slow, but does happen.
Thanks John looks like a long road ahead for me. Frank.

It might be, but always stay positive. I can do so much more five years on than I ever could straight after the stroke. You'll get there
Thanks for the encouragement .
