Cheers Loraine great idea will keep you posted
Thanks Simon
The scooter isn’t cheap but delivers for large heavy Americans in harsh locations
I’m no lightweight so it fits the bill
Speeds are not as important as stability in rugged environments and this scooter may be a bit old school but has been put through some great tests in hard environments
It’s only going to be used for shopping dog walking and being with my wife if she goes further with the dog. I could push it in to above road legal but not my style besides my speedy days are over.
I’m using my bit of money left over from my car sale money once my driving licence went back
Yes, I have an exercise bike and a treadmill in the garage. Nothing beats walking on the beach though; I could walk a mile on the beach (oh yes, I did that yesterday !!)
Yes it is my salvation
I have just pushed up to 6 kms in 20 minutes
Burning 214 calories.
I’m determined to beat my pre diabetes weight and stroke
Not surrender no retreat
This is a fight for my life and I’m not going to lose.
The downside is seeing old films of me 16 years ago when I was younger and able bodied, makes me so sad and a feeling of not getting old levels of mobility the current pain and flexibility in the left leg is not giving me the opportunity to progress
That’s definitely a downside. I try not to think about how I used to be and concentrate on moving forward. I do have moments though where I wish things were different as I guess most do.
Keep going you’re making great progress.
Thanks mrs5k I’m going to spend the next year strengthening my walking muscles with sit to stands and side stepping, plus my physio is preparing a range of exercises for that goal, may get to the spar yet.
Hearty Congratulations, Sir! Onwards and upwards.
That all sounds great. I’m sure with your determination you will get there in time.
Get in as many of them as you can, they quite literally put a spring in the backs of your knees and hip joints. Work your way up from 3 sets of 10 to 3 x 30 or more depending as your ability progresses. Yes you are going to come to a point where your muscles ache down the back of your legs for a day or two after but its well worth it in the long run. And you really notice a difference about an hour later as you stand up or climb stairs, you can feel a slight propulsion from the muscles as you step up/push up to stand. That in itself is what spurred me on to do more of them, to the point I can now do free squats, climb stairs hands free. They’re now a constant part of my daily routine each morning, though I usually wait 'til I get down stairs first

Thanks Sue was sat in the car watching people walking into Lidl, filled with envy and a desire to walk as I did , pain free and moving from one leg to the oth instead of my hobbling with style and the use of a stick.
Mind you I used to have envy of people in hospital who were out of their beds before me and walking the corridor s of the hospital and I am walking just poorly!!
Thanks Sue,
Breaking the sound barrier today I went in search of a replacement garden shed and tool lock box, managed to get round the centre with a supplied wheelchair, but if ever there was a case for a folding mobility scooter that was it.
The chair was knackered and I nearly ended up in the potted planters.
After a nice coffee and a dash for the car we made it home
