Hello everyone and in particular any other MEs. This is obviously something I will be discussing again with my GP and/or pharmacist, but I am at least 3.5 years post stroke events and although I have had a couple of (almost certainly) TIAs near the start, the doctors seem to think that what I am frightened might be new Strokes are actually , as they put it " your ME/CfS" My ME Zoom sessions are ending soon, and I am due to have some more physio input in another month.
But I am wondering if there are other MEs in this Forum who have struggled particularly with their meds, exercises, activity and recovery? I have been moved from Statins to Ezetimibe. so that may help with the side effects a little, but most of the doctors at the GP Practice don’t seem to have a lot of knowledge or understanding of how people with both these conditions combined struggle to get a bit of a progress post-Stroke.
Thanks, there must be others facing these dilemmas..
Think of minerals as raw ingredients / nutrition. Try to supply some materials for your body to start working. Here are some things I address : Magnesium, Copper (calf liver), MSM (Sulphur is needed to build joints and fascia via collagen / elastin also for fatigue), Shilajit (85 trace minerals your body is begging you for), a molecular hydrogen tablet for neuroprotective benefits, (this will give your brain a zip). and Coconut water to supply electrolytes. Try researching these to get started. Good luck, Roland
Always check with your GP before taking anything incase it reacts with your stroke meds. I would rather all my med were natural but the doctor would never agree although they said to me we cant force you to take them. Believe I would feel better if everything was natural and herbal. Have a great day. ![]()
Sorry, I should have pointed this out, as herbs and natural substances are just as powerful as things the GP might prescribe.
Pharmacists know a lot about those things if its difficult to wait until a GP appointment is a available, as some GPs are more accessible than others.
@Shorn just don’t mess with your life. I can rad as much as the pharmacist, but my GP always will have the last say as he is the one looking after me pre stroke. If a pharmacist told me to take something I would research the f*&k out of it first before it went n my mouth, as dying is a long time
. I could have lost my life in Nov 2024 when I had my stroke but I didn’t so life is precious ![]()
