@Mickyboy well done sir, that must have been a very bad dental experience. I have similar to look forward to next week. I have a checkup booked and know that I have two teeth that will need to come out. Enjoy your clean sheets, can’t beat that clean sheet feeling!

That has been the hardest thing for me to manage so far. I finally figured out a new way to do it. I have a thick mattress topper on mine, so now I only had to put fitted sheet on mattress once, and put a different one on the topper, which I can easily move. I will only change it from now on. Making the bed is so very hard. Due to lack of space, mine is against a wall, so it means crawling and wiggling around on the mattress to make it any other way. It is still not perfect as I can’t reach to put the bedspread on correctly until I go to bed for the night, but it works for now.

I am so proud of you. There are some things I almost wish I had not relearned…dishes, laundry, etc… but tackling them does make me feel successful in something. Next thing I want to relearn is kayaking and hiking the woods. That scares my people…if they saw how I make the bed they would never let me try. Let’s hope they will take me soon.

I have one sheet on half the bed. one pillow. one polar bear blanket. one fan. and two naughty polar bears.

I just take my bears and straighten the blanket. turn off the fan. job done.

K  :polar_bear:

Great effort. I would not be able to do that  :polar_bear:

:confounded: The minute I read the words ‘mattress topper’ I just knew what you were going to say. And I’m kicking myself that I never thought of it myself until you mentioned it :confounded: :weary: Our mattress weighs a ton to lift . . . just one of many good reasons for going to the gym to build up my muscles again :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: And we have a mattress topper on it too! When I’m feeling energetic I’ll change the bed by myself, otherwise I’ll get my hubby or one of the kids to help. But it’ll make the job so much easier if I only have the topper to change and change the one on the main mattress less regularly.

Well the simple solution to that is don’t let them see how you make your bed :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I just love hearing of others successes, nice to sleep in a fresh bed once again isn’t it :grinning: And I’m so pleased you are over your dental ordeal now and can get back to normal…well, you know what I mean

Glad you’re feeling better, Well done for being able to do that. Do you know changing the beds is the hardest thing with my sight loss, putting the duvet in the cover is near impossible. I find it so frustrating, makes me cross when I can’t do it as before I used to be a whiz. With three beds to change and make I have learned to do in stages change pillow cases one day then flat sheets the next and so on. Bit of a backwards way but it’s the only way I can get it all done! Adapt adapt adapt best wishes x

Have you tried this method of putting on a quilt cover. Looks so simple and easy to do…for an able bodied person. Mine is a king sized bed and even doing this takes 2 people for me :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Mickeyboy… My wife and I are a team bed maker. You are doing great.
@EmeraldEyes Great video…this is a tough one.

I struggle each morning getting my stupid socks on…OUCH!
getting good at folding laundry.
Still can’t do shirt buttons. Zippers? Can do.
Shaving: must go very slow.

@Mickyboy glad you’re feeling better now & have managed to change the bedding. Love the feeling of clean sheets just not the process of getting there

@EmeraldEyes i tried that method of changing the duvet cover. I got in a right muddle & went back to the way i’d always done it :rofl:

What do you mean by blood spots?

If you are concerned by these you should see your GP. I’m not sure what blood spots are but the GP can hopefully put your mind at rest.

They are like bruises just appear on my hand

I have them on my hands and arms. Mine bleed as they itch like mad and my bedsheets look like a scene out of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the mornings. My GP thinks it is as a result of the blood thinner I’m taking and I’m swapping from Clopidogral to something else that I can’t remember the name of. Speak to your GP.

Does it look anything along the lines of this image:

It’s not something to be concerned about and is will be due to the blood thinners. They will come and they will go on their own, it’s part’n’parcel of age skin combined with blood thinners I’m afraid. And I have often seen them on my mother-in-law’s hands in the past. But do mention them to your gp for your own peace of mind as I am certainly not an expert.
