Long term dizzy after TIA

Morning
Anyone still getting long term dizziness after TIA?

I had dizziness & still do to a lesser extent for a very long time after my stroke.

It may be worth getting a referral to ENT to get checked over to make sure there is nothing else causing it.

Not sure how long you mean by long term but it could just take a while to settle. If it is vestibular issues causing it there are exercises you can do to help it. You’ll find plenty if you google it.

Its been 4 years. Had all the ENT tests without any vestibular related. Tried suggested exercises but no real benefit. Doctor aware of the black hole im in. When it comes it comes; could be really naff days (or hours) or days when its ok to go about things at 75-80% normal etc. Sort of 60/40 split.

A TIA will heal within at least 24 hrs, so after four years, it might be some other condition that is causing the dizziness, best to get to the bottom of it and don’t let them put it down to BPPV as that should clear within a few weeks. If you are concerned you might be having more TIAs, an MRI or CAT scan might be a route to pursue. You can self-test your dizziness if you suspect a TIA, if it is cerebellar but without any professional medical knowledge I wouldn’t be so bold to as guess what is occurring, the condition of dizziness is a symptom of many conditions and medication side-effects.

@nutbar I agree with Rups. I think you need to push back with the drs to find out why a TIA would be causing it after 4 years.

It’s horrid & I feel for you.
