Life after a stroke can be creative: Thirteen years after a severe stroke and 5 month hospital stay

My husband (now aged 78) had a bad haemorragic stroke in June 2013. He was excellently cared for in a very busy high dependency stroke unit, then in an equally busy community rehab unit, then discharged home on NHS complex care package needing hoists and conversions etc at home. I never thought that by now, he’d have graduated to standing transfers between power chair, walking short distances with a quad stick, able to read a newspaper and follow cricket on TV, But best of all, he has been able to get back into his workshop, with help, and has been very creative. Our son has shared their work on facebook, and a film company have filmed them in action. I have a lik for their ‘teaser’ for the film on Vimeo. The company is Danny Hardaker Video in Yorkshire. I hope you all enjoy it and it inspires you to know life can be good even with such disability (and he does get very depressed and down, as do I!!)
