Thank you Derek. I am eating Med diet now no alcohol and low sodium diet! Lost 30 pounds and back to my weight from high school 50 years ago.
Thanks for info. I sure hope the fog goes more sooner than later. I had the first stroke two weeks before I was supposed to retire so I retired earlier. No way would have I wanted to work. The brain fog would be horrible at work. I haven’t had a chance to really celebrate and enjoy retirement yet! But it’s encouraging to see so many people seem to be getting through this type of thing! Wish they would never happen to anyone!

It is hard not to get scared about that strange treacly sensation. I desperately try to hide things from other people and a headache grows out of that stress.
I believe we can get over these sensations in time…

Hi @Mikedob, I know I’m late to the party but I just wanted to welcome you to forum…better late than never
That fog is weird, I sometimes wondered if it was the brain’s way of protecting itself from what was going on around me while it was repairing the damage done 
But it did go sometime in the first year post stroke.
Balance has taken a lot longer, it’s not bad but I’m never going to be a high wire artist 
hey-ho that’s another dream scratched off my bucket list

Not really late, no hurry, I have plenty of time and just trying to collect as much information from others as possible on their brain fog! That is good news it eventually goes away, as I was worried at first. Other people have said could be seven to eight months or sooner. So that’s good information. I wish the best to you, and take good care of your health!
