Just a typical tuesday

and so today i wake early to make notes for a doctor phone meeting - item one on the agenda is the letter received the day before from hospital stroke team with my test results , , when the letter came i read it and thought my world had just ended it sounded so bad however my doctor reads the letter and says its good news - wow !! then doctor asks me how i feel after my heart attack - i had no idear but test results in hospital showed i had an heart attack , well news to me my first stroke and first heart attack , i then visit the physio who says they cant help because my feet problem is due to poor circulation , my gp thinks my stroke has left me with poor circulation in my feet as such not much they can do about it - they offer me sleeping tablets , hope they work i could do with some rest ..

Wow sounds like there’s a lot to take on board there. Hope the sleeping tablets work so you can get a decent nights sleep. Things always seem better if you can sleep.

Some meds lead to swollen feet/legs and poor circulation. I am taking them for heart problems. Might be worth you checking.

GOOD POINT i just thinking - my gp said maybe maybe my statins are giving me bad feet ??? i take 80mg every day but gp said dont stop taking them - anyone know anything ??

dear dexter - good point my doctor also said same i take 80mg statin each day but doctor says dont stop the tablets so its a difficult one

They should be able to do a blood test to see if your statins are affecting you. There are alternatives to atorvastatin that you can take. Worth asking them to check.

@andrew90 I cant believe your doctors wording How do you feel after your heart attack? my answer would have been NOT DEAD. What a stupid question. You will now find that you will research the shit out of everything, but don’t worry yourself by what you read as its just general. What was the good news from the letter, was it the fact that they discovered you had had a heart attack? Is that what your doctor said was the good news? I wish you well and have a great day :revolving_hearts:

@andrew90, I wouldn’t mind sleeping pills myself. I’m often told “Try to get a good nights sleep”. I would like that if I could sleep. I know you are more stressed than me and you’ve got more on your plate than me but, if it’s any consolation, my stress level are through the roof. Especially when you ask for various organizations to help you but, you end up getting stonewalled. Not nice.

Silent heart attacks. still damage the heart but you are unaware.

There are also other “silents” e.g. silent aspiration and silent strokes - A silent stroke is a type of brain injury caused by a blockage in blood flow that does not produce typical stroke symptoms like sudden paralysis or numbness. While they cause no immediate, obvious, or remembered symptoms, they damage brain tissue and are often discovered later via brain scans like MRIs. Silent strokes can cause permanent brain damage, leading to future cognitive issues and increased risk of major strokes.
