Iron deficiency

Last week my gp sent me for blood tests after I complained I was tired all the time. Turns out I am iron deficient. I will let you know how I get on with the supplements.

The moral of the story: Not everything is stroke related.

Good GP. I hope you respond well to the supplement.

@Janetb , I too had blood tests not to long ago. Even though I don’t have iron deficiency, I been taking multi-vitamin supplements with iron (Seven Seas). Bought some recently at Holland and Barrett. Well, there was a half price sale on. :wink:

Hope the supplements work well for you.
As you say we should never assume that our symptoms are stroke related especially when our strokes were a while ago.

Janet - It’s great you saw the GP and the iron deficiency was identified. I think it is [fairly] commune amongst females of a certain age and so probably not so difficult to identify or treat. I’m sure you will be fine.

And you are absolutely right, not everything is stroke related. Personally, I feel maybe it is actually only a small amount and much of it could be psychological i.e. to link it to stroke.

No matter, I am sure you will feel more energetic henceforth :slight_smile:

:pray:

@Mrs5K , that’s the plan.

I’m the opposite Janet. Too much iron in my blood (Hemochromatosis). My only way to regulate, it is by regular blood lettings (venesection) at hospital. I have blood tests before the venesections to check my blood levels. Doctors are unsure if this caused my Stroke.
