There’s always cake.
It adds interest to hopeless worlds – on cake we thrive.
Cake caused the French Revolution and the birth of a Republic.
This recipe is a keeper. A must try.
There will be more.
keep on keepin’ on

That looks very tasty Do you eat all of the great things you bake ?
I’m the only one in our house that eats cake and I’m sure I would end up giving everything away or eating everything I made. Lovely but not good for my waist line
Enjoy
Regards Sue
Thanks @Susan_Jane
It is very moreish but a slice every now and again can’t do any harm, surely? PLUS the dried fruit it contains must help towards a ‘five-a-day’ count.
We definitely do eat what we make, but sharing is the best, isn’t it?
That looks like something my hubby would devour. One for the list when i get some time off work.
The dried fruit is definitely one of our 5 a day.
Ok, I’m going to ask the stupid question because I’ve never steamed bread before and definitely want to try this one. I just love spices
So how do you steam the bread?
It is not a daft question. But it may be problem. We have a multi-cooker called a Ninja 15in1 that has all sorts of functions, one of which is to steam bread, anotherisprove dough. You would probably get a similar result simply baking in an oven at 160°C. The timing might be different but watch it for colour and check it is cooked through with a skewer.
Write and tell us if you try it. Others would like to know about an oven bake I am sure.

If you are feeling like spending this Christmas this is a good buy - Hilary loves hers.
This is a Ninja 15in1 expensive but worth it for its versatility and economical power consumption. On Amazon Usually £319 - black friday deal £229 a really good saving. It gets well used in our house.
I’ve actually looked up how to. You can just put a baking tray of water in the bottom of the oven and bake at 160c as normal.
I’m going to give it a go tomorrow hopefully
Thanks for the recommendation, might have to drop a few hints to my hubby. But then again, he’s already promised me a new kitchen in the new year…when all I wanted was a new tap for the sink Maybe I could slip in the price of a new Ninja with it and he might not notice
Thanks for your reply. Yes I have oven baked bread that way in the past and it does turn out okay.
The Ninja does have proofing, steam baking functions as well as air frier, pressure cooker and many others too. I might post about my setup, a well priced stand mixer makes things very easy too.
Please let us know how you get on, with pictures if possible.
All the best
