I’m embarrassed

Went out with my wife to the local Spar and pharmacy for my meds.
I took the scooter and was overtaken by a man in his seventies walking past with his stick.
It was a real shame I can’t walk.
My brother has been admitted to hospital with a suspected heart attack.

Can my family luck get sny better both of us under 60 with significant health emergencies .

Lucky for him it willl be treated and he has had no issues unlike me with a severe stroke causing extrem disability and life changing implications

Hi Mark,

Sorry to hear about your brother. I hope he’s soon on the mend. He’s in the rightvplace to get sorted now.

As for being embarrassed you shouldn’t be. I’m always saying to hubby it’s not great being overtaken by someone who is nearly 40 years older than me but we can’t help having a disability and definitely shouldn’t be embarrassed about it. I know what you mean though.

Good to hear that you’re getting out & about on the scooter though. Much better than being stuck at uome especially with the sunshine we are having today.

Best wishes

Ann

Hi, sorry to hear that your brother is unwell but lucky that his condition can be treated.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, I know how your feel but please don’t feel embarrassed. At least you are able to get out and about on your scooter, better than being stuck indoors.

Hope your brother is feeling better soon. Get back on your scooter and enjoy this beautiful weather :sun: while it lasts.

Regards Sue

Hello Mark,

I am sorry you feel embarrassed, though I am not sure there is any reason for you to feel that way. What is it that you have done that would make you feel embarrassed?

If it were not for the stroke, I am sure you would be happy to see the elderly gentleman walk past you with his walking stick. Your stroke has hampered your mobility, but it is nothing to be ashamed of or to feel embarrassed by.

Your family genes are what they are and again it is not cause for embarrassment. Your brother has taken ill, but it seems his condition is treatable and he should be up and about soon.

You yourself are doing well and with a positive frame of mind and effort your quality of life will improve. Be patient and accept there are things that are outside your control and there are other things that are in your control and you can work on these.

You’re still young and there is no reason why you should not be able to walk again. It may take time, but if you keep chipping away you will soon be able to walk with a stick like the 70 year old gentleman.

You never know, when you are 70 and walking past a young pup, they might wonder who that young man is zipping past them with a walking stick

My apologies if my “pep” talk is not for you

Chin up !!
