Hi everyone, I didn’t realise I’d got a story to tell until I sat and thought about it.
I had a second stroke about 21 months ago on my 63rd birthday. The 22nd of July 2023 at 1:50pm to be precise. At that precise time I also stopped swallowing. Everything from water, feed and medication is now fed or injected into my stomach bypassing my epiglottis and food pipe!
Now I always was a big blok, over 19.5 stone in fact. Well slowly but surely the weight has fallen of me until now I have settled down to around 12 stone. Some 48 kilos less! Consequently I’ve had to buy a whole new wardrobe. I find that I can now wear clothes via Vinted that were out of my size range but also out of my price range! I’ve moved from a 4XL to XL/L. I now wear Ralph Lauren, Penguin, FatFace, Super Dry, Barbour and Paul Costello. Just in case neuroplasty kicks in one day, my wife gives me a bowl of food every night which I chew on and spit out. Onwards and upwards.
@PhilipS You certainly do have a story to tell. You have come a long way & I have no doubt, with your determinatio, you’ll continue to improve.
I too have lost a lot of weight. 4.5 stone unlike you I am not peg fed. My appetite just disappeared & never came back. I too bought a new wardrobe - expensive business but feel much better wearing clothes thay fit rather than buggy stuff. I was reluctant to buy loads initially as I wasn’t sure if the weight would suddenly start creeping back on again.
Keep going. Your story will no doubt inspire many others.
Ann
Hi Ann @Mrs5K , I pickup like new or new without tags or new with tags of Vinted. It depends on price. However the most I’ve spent is around £50 for a Barbour Jacket. I usually pick up checked shirts for between £5 and £8. Today I’m wearing a Mirto shirt and a Bench jumper.
I shall have to look at Vinted. I’ve never shopped there bit sounds like you’ve had some good deals.
I find that the longer they’ve had it on Vinted the more open they are to offers. So something that is £4 can be had for£3. Something that’s £10 can be had for £6.50! Then there’s delivery. It can be sent to an InPost box for a little cheaper than delivery to your house.
