I didn't know this... Blue Badge holders

Apologies to anyone who already knew about this. In deepest, darkest Yorkshire we’ve been told not to use hosepipes etc 'cos we’re short o’watter!
A neighbour, (also a Blue Badge holder) told me that us folks are allowed to use a hosepipe if our mobility is poor or cause danger to us. I did manage to water my plants this morning using the watering can, but if the restrictions go on as long as we’re being warned they will, I may just use the hosepipe for one big soak and hope for the best. Hope this helps. nx

@Norma751

I like to check when I see a thread like this.
Thanks for posting, Norma. Don’t apologise – your input is extremely useful.

I decided to see if there was more info available.

I found this:

It’s always good to know the background and any finer points.

. . . and here’s more about blue badges including who can apply (you don’t have to be a driver) and how to apply.

I have a blue badge myself and I recommend checking it out and applying.

I don’t have a monopoly on info and hope others will post opinion, additional know how, etc etc.

keep on keepin on

I had an email from the water company yesterday about this. They are emailing everyone who is registered with them as a priority customer.

Me too! It was a letter from them in this case.

I got an email a couple of days ago from my local water company advising I’m exempt from the hosepipe ban because I’m registered as a priority customer. Hope this helps.

I did hear something on the news about thus the other day. Didn’t get the details as it was a fleeting mention. We aren’t on restrictions here yet but I suspect we will be soon.
