How bad is this stroke do you think

Having analysed the graphics, I would say the stroke is not that bad at all.

But from a recovery point of view, this graphic alone does not tell the full story and I believe we need to look at other factors such as age of patient, health condition prior to stroke, lifestyle prior to stroke, job etc.

I would say still say this is not a bad stroke at all.
I see no reason why there should not be a very good recovery and return to as normal as you can get from having had a stroke.

Keep beavering away - you’re doing an amazing job helping your husband.

To me that doesn’t look bad but I’m not an expert.

Mine was on the left and a little further to the front, so my daughter and I established. I’ve yet to get a copy of the scan.

So his was the right and didn’t effect his left arm or leg or vision, am I right in thinking? Just his speech?

It looks like a large bleed. Did he have a bleed? If on the left it is a bleed, it covers quite a significant portion of the brain. I am not a neurologist, obviously, more a brain sparky. I am to understand that where symptoms are concerned, it is more about location than size.

Ah, then I have failed my first efforts into radiology. I can’t see the damage in the scans. However, that doesn’t mean the outcome of the stroke isn’t significant for your partner.

Hi @Clairekirby1990 if I’m reading it right as doing this from memory looks very similar to mine - a right sided ischemic stroke, I was lucky and physically rehabbed very well as such. My arm took work then my hand but was lucky to have no damage to vision etc but it still was a bit of a shock. Let your partner take his time and recover properly, he may well get back to work like I did but patience, support and some understanding from his employer will be key. Get support for all of you because it’s needed and it’s out there and don’t be afraid to ask others for help. There are some truly magnificent minds on the subject here with so much practical experiences that can guide you if needed.
