Does anyone know if holiday insurance will lower the longer ago my stroke was. Mine was 5mths ago and at the moment the insurance is much more than the holiday.

@Grahamnumber1 Welcome to the Forum. I am stroke survivor and as we are a higher risk insurance will also be expensive. Holiday in UK and then you do not need insurance. There will be others on here who travel a lot and will be able to give you more information. I wish you luck :four_leaf_clover:

My stroke was 3 years ago. I pay £270 for a year’s cover to Europe with https://www.allcleartravel.co.uk/

So it does go down over time. Thank you so much. Thought I could never go abroad again. It will be one yr since my stroke. ( when holiday planned )

Hi & welcome to the community @Grahamnumber1 sorry to hear of your stroke and hope you are getting on ok.

Travel insurance costs depend on a multitude of different things but in general I expect if will reduce as time passes. I have just bought a policy for me & hubby, who also has medical conditions, for just under £200.

Try using a comparison site like medical travel compared to see if you can get a better deal.

Thank you so much. I was just overwhelmed with price of the insurance being £300 more than the two weeks in Florida. I will try what you suggested. Again. Thank you.

Hello Graham and welcome to the community.

I shall leave the advice on holiday insurance to others who are better qualified than me. All I would say is do a staycation - there are some amazing holidaying opportunities in the Kingdom that is United or the Britain that is Great. I just wish I had explored it more than I have

And in fact, you could even be doing the planet a favour

Wishing you all the best and enjoy your holiday wherever you decide to go

@ManjiB , staycations are good. For me, I prefer Ireland :ireland:. I’ve got cousins there.

I would like to go there and have a few pints of Guiness :beer_mug:

@ManjiB , it’s good craic. Guinness tastes better in Ireland :ireland: (in my opinion). I’m hoping to one day emigrate there. Make use of my Irish passport.
