Welcome to this photographic challenge.
Here is an opportunity to be creative with your camera.
I hope you will enjoy the experience.
It’s great to share isn’t it?
Not everyone will submit an image this time but I’m sure it will be interesting to just take a look at our efforts.
I offer this challenge and hope it will get a good response.
Archaeological treasure.
Archaeologists seem to discover ancient artefacts almost anywhere and everywhere they dig.
Buried treasure treasure is a fascinating subject.
Perhaps we human beings have a squirrel gene that prompts us to bury the things we value in order to preserve them forever.
I’d like you to think of some important or significant object, but instead of burying it, take a photograph and post it in this thread.
Your treasure could be a hoard of coins, an item of clothing, a picture, a souvenir or something that has special meaning for you.
Include a few words with your picture.
I’m sure our Museum of Antiquities will interesting & fun to both take part in and to view.
Locked away safely my great granddad’s walking stick. Passed onto my mum when her dad passed away. And passed onto me before mum passed away. And will pass. Onto my oldest nephew after me.
I have had this Inspector Clouseau figurine ever since I was a child. It has travelled all around the world with me for the last forty years. Wherever I land, I display it unostentatiously, as it is a talisman that reminds me how absurd life is. The Pink Panther series being something I re-watch often and Peter Sellers one of my favourite all time performers.
Brilliant post @Bobbi - it should be very interesting to see what our memberships comes up with.
@Gnasher (maybe you’re the Phil I was thinking might be Paul?) - I love your great granddad’s walking stick. It’s really something - what a fantastic family heirloom. I love these sort of things. How wonderful to think your great granddad used that or held it in his hands
Rupert @Rups - wow! A figurine you’ve had since your childhood and that has travelled the word with you - that is something else. Peter Sellers - great performer and one time husband of one time bond girl Britt Ekland.
Trying to think of what I might contribute this post but looking around there’s nothing looking worthy of this collection
My grandfather’s watch. It’s a year younger than me, bought in 1964 from an auction of goods that had been seized by HM Customs. Left to me when he died in 1971 at the young age of 56. It still works and keeps good time, though I wouldn’t risk wearing it these days. My dad bought an identical one at the same time but as he was a chef it fell victim to the greasy, humid kitchen environment.
That’s great! Just brought back a flood of memories playing with a viewfinder when I was a kid, I don’t think I ever owned one, maybe I did, can’t remember. Although, your one is fancier as it projects the images.
