I agree with what you say ManjiB but what can you do? My husband phoned the health centre today ,as he needs to discuss something. He was given an appointment for 25/7 ,which is 5 weeks away!! The nhs is in chaos!! I suppose we are lucky to be seen at all!
Have you ever tried to use the 111 service?
I have used it a couple of times and found it useful.
You might have to wait on the phone for a while, but you will get to speak someone and then if necessary, they will put you in touch with a technician e.g. doctor or nurse as appropriate.
They can also prescribe medications etc. so it is a lot quicker than seeing your GP.
Only thing is it is done over the phone which might not always be ideal.
Also, you can now talk to a pharmacist - again not the same as seeing a GP face to face but if you are troubled it might be a good starting point.
I am happy to take advantage of these alternatives.
We might be lucky where I live as sometimes they offer us the opportunity to go to another clinic - a âwalk-inâ clinic.
Hi @ManjiB - I see you mention cider vinegar - I donât know if you are aware it should be organic cider vinegar with the âmotherâ in it. That is the yeast that fermented it. It is easy to find. I drink 2 teaspoons of vinegar with honey in a glass of warm water in the morning - have done for over 10 years and I really like it. S
Hi Sharon - Nice to have you back!
Where have you been hiding? The last time we heard from you you were trying to get your strength back and coming off Citalopram. How are things? I hope you are feeling happier and stronger now
Thanks for checking in - I do get the organic version with the all important âmotherâ ferment.
I have tried it on and off for many years but never felt any improvements or benefits. I use Braggs or Willyâs raw unpasteurised 1 litre bottles. I also tried the Aspinallâs version but canât remember if it was raw and unfiltered. Iâve tried drinking it at 3pm as a pick-me-up, for breakfast (on an empty stomach as a cleanser) and I use it in my salad dressings (3 parts olive oil to 1 part vinegar).
I have even added it to my cordials. I have no problem with the taste but donât see the health benefits such reduction of cholesterol etc.
So now, I still use it but only as an ingredient in whatever I am having e.g. salad or occasionally adding to my cordials.
I will try it again first thing to see if I can notice any changes. I drank lemon juice with warm water first thing for a few weeks and then got distracted and now I am having 3 tbl spoons of organic early season extra virgin olive oils. I try all the âfadsâ but none seem to work or I give up too soon. Still it keeps me amused
Nice to have you back. Do keep in touch.
