hello all – usually test my blood pressure 3 times a week but after having the covid 19 booster a week ago things have
been going wrong --my bp has been high but for 7-8 months now has been completely under control --results usually 118 over 72 is always what i record - tested bp 2 days before booster - fine – 3 days after – 170 sys readings and since then all readings have been very high --Recording bp for doctor now – he thinks that there is no connection between booster and high B P but reading online i find that there are lots of studies that disagree – all of this is too much of a coincidence – anyone got the same experience of this-- really fed up with having to return to having my B P out of control again – so worrying again
Wendy, hi,
Not an answer to your question, but I got my BP from 268 / 189 to an acceptable 130 / 80. I hope you find a solution, good luck, Roland
Hi @Wendy1953 from another Wendy.
I’ve had a quick google and there are several scholarly articles saying hypertension has occurres in 3.2% of people vaccinated.
It is certainly worth reporting as if your doctor cares to look at has been reported.
Of course the illness that cannot be named also causes similar issues in over 16% of the group examined.
Thus the risk of hypertension from the actual disease is much higher. I can’t comment on whether the studies I looked at were good studies or full of holes, they were fairly small.
@Wendy1953 it could be related but also there could be another explanation. I wonder if you felt poorly after the jab? I know I felt awful after each covid jab but I can’t say if it affected my BP as I didn’t check it. Feeling poorly can affect your BP though so maybe a connection there? You say that you are worrying again. This will affect your BP too.
I am no expert so this my thoughts only but if it is jab related I wonder if in a day or 2 it might settle again as the jab affects start to wear off. Also, if you haven’t done so report your suspicions on the yellow card scheme. It helps them build up a picture of side effects and how common they are.
I hope your BP settles down quickly. Once you have your readings the GP will be able to suggest a plan of action for you.
Best wishes
Ann
yeah i found these reports too – rather scholarly in tone – i think that they suggested a few days to 3 week period for bp to be affected
felt fine after booster ann - just stiff arm next day – this is the only booster since having my stroke
