Totally agree - I often say that to my ateqm when work seems overwhelming. It applies equally to all other situations too.
@HHilary Thank you for sharing, very uplifting ![]()
I am 78 years old. I had a stroke almost 4 years ago. It left me almost completely immobile. I was paralysed down my right side.
Since that time I have regained a little of my mobility. Now I have a car with adaptations and can drive. I am a long way short of how I was pre-stroke but little by little I’m still making improvements. I have a life and am involved with others.
The lady, Hilary, who posted this thread is my wife and my carer.
I see it as a partnership. She has been a constant support. We have our ups and downs like any couple but life goes on.
I think that what has made this work so well is that she can go away and leave me to get on with things. I try to not be clinging. It is important that she has her life. She helps me when I need it but allows me to find my own way when I want.
Somehow we are getting through all this. I feel I need to share that.
No matter how dreadful it all seems there is a way forward.
So thank you @HHilary
Yesterday was Stroke Day.
Isn’t it time we had a Carers’ Day?
keep on keepin on
