IN way I think I have Ther’ rh old on rht used ot wok wellni an dr the one eith h a brain that i till healign that can’t ahandle ;e a lot that was so easy in past.
joking aside, I m finding people very wary of me. Are they worried r I’m going to have another stroke orfhatt having had a brain injury I’m going to startt behaving oddly?
Is this people you know or strangers? Sometimes people don’t know how to handle what has happened to you and stay away as a result. If it is strangers they won’t know you’ve had a stroke so probably misinterpret how you are therefore give you a wide berth. You could try explaining to them that you’ve had a stroke but you are still you and still need company and communication.
Years ago a story went around that in the depths of a continent somewhere far away the local witch doctor would call around and tell one of the natives that within at a certain length of time he or she would be dead.
We were quite amused by this tale.
Supposedly after waiting for the suggested time to pass the individual selected would actually promptly and obediently die.
These witch doctors were very able and clever.
In the West our own doctors have relatively recently been acquiring these ancient skills.
If you don’t want to wait, furthermore, they will furnish poisons to accelerate the process and they will nod wisely, accept the fee and insist that death was inevitable, far better to get it over sooner rather than later.
I bring this tidbit to you, from the dark side of the moon.
“Scientists in China successfully reversed multiple signs of aging in elderly macaques using engineered human stem cells. Known as senescence-resistant mesenchymal progenitor cells (SRCs), this breakthrough demonstrated systemic rejuvenation across 10 major organ systems without adverse side effects like tumors.
The study was peer-reviewed and published in the scientific journal Cell on June 13, 2025. The publication followed a rigorous 44-week trial period during which the elderly macaques received biweekly stem cell infusions.
Elderly monkeys—biologically equivalent to humans in their 60s and 70s—showed major improvements across the body:
Brain function: Reversed brain atrophy and significantly improved cognitive abilities and memory.
Bone and physical health: Increased bone mass and improved physical vitality.
Reproductive health: Restored reproductive function and stimulated sperm production.
Cellular health: Suppressed chronic inflammation and reset biological aging clocks to a younger state.”
This research could potentially put the supplements, peptides, and nootropic industries out of business.
Oh ye of little faith!
to believe or to disbelieve is that the question?
I believe it is partly entertainment and partly true.
What we believe does to a degree influence the way we perceive outcomes.
Whether simply wanting something, or conversely fearing something, affects the result at a later time is debatable.
There are a vast number who strongly wish for a lottery win who are regularly disappointed.
Fear of accident when crossing the road is likely to reduce the chance of such an unpleasant event.
The future is uncertain, sometimes the past can appear shadowy and subject to change.
Pondering all this is hard work
It is of today that we can, for good or ill, be certain.
One’s perception of today certainly does seem to influence how things turn out.
