My husband had a go on the scooter indoors and hadn’t put it in gear! He found in the instructions that two pages are back to front. We hadn’t had that problem before. It’s a steep learning curve!

We went to the Council offices today. My husband parked in the disabled parking but there was quite a curb he had to lift the scooter over before I could scoot. The rest was OK. A slight slope was OK.

Did you mention to the council about having to lift your scooter? It is amazing how many disabled bays have that same issue. Glad all went ok otherwise.

There should be a dropped curb net to every Blue Badge space.

There should but I have found many that aren’t. I raise it with the parish / town council if needs be so they can rectify it.

Considering it was council buildings it was a poor show. I could try emailing them

I managed to email the council and should get a reply by the 14th. It’s possible there was a dropped kerb and we missed it. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt as actually it’s illegal. They should know the law.

The council should know better. Hopefully they will get back to you doing and rectify the issue if necessary.

I haven’t heard from them since! I’m beginning to think the scooter isn’t worth the price.
It’s limited in what you can do.

Scooters do have their limits but if you are having difficulty getting about they can be a lifeline. Mine helps loads when I go out as I can’t walk far and it means I can at least get around a shop and keep up with people which I can’t do when I am walking.

I have used it to get to an interview at the council I mentioned and also scooting round a supermarket several times while my husband did the shopping. I could have done that with my walker like I did before. I have in mind another couple of shops. We went to the doctors today with my walker. I also have in mind to use it round the hospital. My husband takes me to each location and unfolds which ever I use, the walker or the scooter

you sound as being less able to walk than me. I’m slow but can use the walker.

I am able to walk a little bit but I am so very slow anf can only walk short distances. The scooter helps me go further and also helps with fatigue management.

Hello. How are you getting on with your scooter in the wet? I can’t use mine at all.

I haven’t been out on mine for the last week or 2 but it is ok in the wet (not really heavy rain though) as long as you dress appropriately as you do seem to get wetter than if you are walking.

You seem to have a more usable scooter than mine. Am still wondering if it was worth the money.
