Given my life back

Just and update, my consultant has finally given me a full discharge from hospital care. His words were “ you have been given a second chance, look after yourself and in the nicest way I do not want to see you again” Six months of hard work and I almost feel free again. What a lovely feeling. He shook my hand and said “Go, live your life”

Just wanted to share something nice.

I am sorry you are having a bad run of luck and reading your note, it seems you are taking it on the chin. I am pleased you are almost fully recovered from your stroke - this really is great news.

Wrt your throat cancer, I would like to say that cancer diagnosis and treatments are much better than they have been. Most cancers are spotted early these days and are treatable. I believe in your case your throat cancer may have been detected early, but it is an “educated” guess given you have been treated for stroke. I would like to think with early detection and treatment, your chance of recovery from your throat cancer must be good. So with your recovery from stroke and potential recovery from throat cancer and with your run of bad luck running its course, hopefully you can have a healthier and happier future.

Wishing you all the best. Take care and chin up

@Injebreck99 I’m so sorry to hear this. You must feel devastated. Hopefully, you’ll get the right treatment and make a full recovery. My daughter was diagnosed with a rare tracheal cancer in 2010, not quite the same as the throat but still a similar location. It was a very difficult journey - but there were lots of good times as well. I hope there are good people around who can support you. You may feel like your luck has run out (most of us would feel the same) but best case scenario is that you WILL recover. Keep hope alive and believe that better days are ahead. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

@Injebreck99 This is great news and not so good news. What is the diagnosis for the cancer, can they treat it or are they stating this is it, enjoy life. I look for the good in everything. Take care and huge hugs :hugs::people_hugging: :hugs:

It’s an amazing feeling when you are discharged. I am still having really bad days though. To be expected I guess. Onwards and upwards. Really delighted for you.
