I have a short story (it could be a book one day!) to tell that may amuse/interest some forum users, but I stress it has nothing to do with stroke.
I was 37 years old when I discovered quite by chance that the man I thought was my Dad was in fact my step-dad. I have 3 younger brothers (who are in fact half-brothers) and we all had a wonderful Mum., sadly now deceased.
My natural curiosity roused, I set out to track my birth father down ( I wanted to knock on his door and say “Hi Pop”!) He was an American serviceman and I employed a professional Genealogist (at considerable cost, because I am hopeless with computers)This lady came back to me a few weeks later with good news- and bad!. She had traced him but he had died 10 years earlier. THAT WAS THE GOOD NEWS!!
The BAD NEWS?? - He had married no less than 7 times and she sent me copies of his 7 marriage certificates-along with copies of his FIVE (5) divorce certificates.Keeping up with the arithmetic? It transpired that two of his wives disappeared without trace and he was deeply suspected of having murdered them, but because their bodies were never found, he could not be charged.There is very much more to the story which I will not go into here. I wonder if it will get into a book one day?

Sounds an ideal scenario to write a book ! I published a book inspired by my family history 
finished after my stroke and writing another now . Good luck to you
Truly intriguing and mystifying, a lot of that sort of thing happened during the war, my own father believes his brother was the result of an American Serviceman as my grandmother used to entertain them while her husband was away as a Wing Commander. At one point my father used to think his younger brother’s name was buddy.
But your story takes the cake, there is certainly a book in that, and would make a fascinating investigation into the tangled web of those seven marriages, and why only five divorces? It feels like you may open up a whole Pandora’s Box here.
A fascinating story. I started researching my family tree years ago. It’s very addictive. A few mysteries but nothing like yours.
If not a book then maybe a podcast….i listen to a lot and your story is reminiscent of several family discoveries/mysterys (The Foundling is a good recent one). …either way….go for it!

It’s like listening to the radio, recorded voice programme, but you get to choose the show….nae worries, I was thinking you could speak into a microphone, easier than writing out a book…if you have a mobile phone that includes a facility (app) for podcasts you can listen on yr phone, Audible and BBC have them as well….i like those with boring voices as I can fall fast asleep at night whatever the subject ha ha ha!
