If someone loses money as a result of something they have done it could be said that they had their fingers BURNT.

MONEY has value only if people put “value” on it. There have been a lot of different forms of money used in the world. From the 9th century all the way until the 19th, tea was so valuable it was used as money throughout Asia. The people of China, Mongolia, and Tibet, in particular, made “tea bricks” by compressing tea leaves and casting them in a metal mold. These bricks were then used as currency.

The face value of each brick varied with the quality of leaves used to construct it. People actually preferred receiving payment with tea bricks because they could then consume the tea.

a cup of tea is sitting on a wooden block

The three little pigs built houses of straw & sticks but the big bad wolf blew these down. They then build a house if BRICKS and the wolf wasn’t able to blow this house down however much he huffed & puffed.

I always loved that story as a child.
Most people have dogs and cats for pets. Some have birds and fish. I’ve heard that some families have PIGS for pets, but I’ve never met any. Scientists say they are the 5th most intelligent animal on the planet.

In today’s busy world FAMILIES don’t often sit down together for meals. When I was growing up we always sat down as a FAMILY at meal times.

We did too–and also with my children. I think most of us would like to turn back the clock. Why are we so BUSY? What are we so busy doing? Where are we so busily going? It can’t be all that important, really.

Cowrie shells were traded for goods and services throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, and used as money as early as the 14th century on Africa’s western coast.

Prior to my stroke I was one of those BUSY people always on the go moving from one thing to the next. This was me.

Since my stroke life is slower paced and I am more like this now (well sometimes anyway).

YELLOW
I looked up the word ‘yellow’ the other day.

I found so many shades of yellow that they had been distinguished by words like

gold

honey

daffodil.

I found words like fire and sand and champagne and lemon and sunbeam and I even found a song.

Now imagine someone telling yellow that it’s ‘just yellow’.

When yellow is a sunbeam and a daffodil and fire.

When yellow is a song.

Without yellow, we couldn’t make orange and we couldn’t create green and our world would be far less

colourful because of it.

Yellow’s true colours are not limited to one thing.

And neither are yours.

Some days you are dark and fiery and intense.

Some days you are rich and bright and vibrant.

Some days you are buttercups and dandelions and some days you are champagne and a song.

And without you, someone’s life would be far less bright and far less beautiful.

You are you as

yellow is yellow.

And the world needs you.

Because, no matter what you think, you are not ‘just you’.

You are so much more.

A SMILE is a wonderful thing. It lights up a life. It lights up the world. New parents eagerly await their new baby’s first smile.

The Northern LIGHTS are one of natures most spectacular displays in the Earths sky.

So beautifiul! I’ve never actually seen them.

Some people really go all out when they decorate their houses for Christmas with LIGHTS. Can you imagine the electric bill for this one. (A house near us does this, and the bill for December was over $5,000. The city pays for it, though, so people can drive by and enjoy it.)

I love it. But don’t love the size of that electric bill

We have a little village by us that display CHRISTMAS LIGHTS every year to raise money for charity. I love driving through at night when it is all lit up.

Birthday cake what i long to eat cheese cake with raspberry coulis please! :cupcake::shortcake::moon_cake:

RAISING young ones requires a lot of love and patience. That’s why it’s especially gratifying when someone goes all out to care for orphans.

Oh that’s sooooo sweet.

I was well known before my stroke for being very impatient. Since my stroke I have had to learn a lot of PATIENCE. I am not quite there yet but am getting better.
