@MarkG - you are very handy with the camera.
These pictures are amazing!
Thank you! When my Occupational Therapist asked me what I wanted to achieve one of the main things was to use my camera again. She even arranged a trip out with her and my physio to our local nature reserve to work out managing strategies to enable me to start taking pictures again. I really was so lucky with the support that I received from the Community Stroke Team. I think that it really made a difference. I’m not good at panning and standing up which usually ends badly but I’m much better now at sitting and panning!
Loving those pics. The Cotswolds are beautiful. Hope you enjoyed your time there.
Yes, I do. We went 3 times last year and have been twice this year already. We rent a lodge just outside Stratford upon Avon for 3 nights at a time.
Lovely pictures - looks like a nice outing ![]()
Very much more than reasonable, i would say brilliant!
I’ll l post a couple i took on holiday in at Lucia when I’m on the pc next.
Oh wow absolutely love these pictures. Took me a bit to spot the St Lucian Anole - very well camouflaged. A great talent you have.
Our first crop of pears hand picked by my hubby’s fair hand today. Some have found their way to friends as we can’t eat them all.
Yes, I can imagine it would be difficult to get through the full crop (not sure of crop is the right word). One of our family friends are mad about home gardening and they grow all sorts and then the put it in the freezer. I think they have more than one freezer !!
I think we may need extra freezers too - we have tonnes of apples to pick too…in a few weeks.
I recently took delivery of some stationery I ordered online.
I was rather surprised to see the package it arrived in and so I thought I would share the photos with you.
The funny thing is the subject dividers cost less than a pound.
The company charges £5 for delivery.
It is rather hilarious.
Don’t worry, I haven’t quite gone mad. This was part of a larger order that justified the delivery charge, all considered, but this was shipped separately !!
Talk about carbon footprint ![]()
Oh it’s great isn’t it hoe much packaging they can use for the tiniest parcels. Amazon used to be the worst at it although lately, they have improved.
Were the dividers the only thing in the box? ![]()
Yup, and the bubble wrap armband things ![]()

a tad excessive- an envelope would have done ![]()

Hi all,
new to this forum and I was kindly directed to this thread, by @Mrs5K as I have an interest in photography, and my introductory post is here - if anyone has any experiences to share I’d be really interested to hear them:
My introductory post
For starters, here is a pic of my local reservoir - looking very low on water - taken with an android smartphone and fiddled about a bit with in an editing program, Darktable.
Andrew
Good fiddling Andrew - very impressive ![]()
Thank you! ![]()
I don’t use my phone enough for pics, dunno why really.
andrew
Perhaps now that will change ![]()
Maybe you have been so used to using a camera to take pictures to illustrate your work as you mentioned in your introduction that the idea of using your phone did not come to you. I must say I find it hard to think of the smartphone as anything other than a phone (I always had a 3G phone and the phone was for communications only - even text messages were used sparingly). Now I have been slowly moved on to a SmartPhone but yet to understand its full potential. I know for some people it is their life they do everything on it, quite remarkable !!
