First scooter incident

I was on rout to our Tesco Express just now and had two numbs, the first was a low to ground piece of wood that I ran over and it jolted me
On the way home we cut through the park and I miss judged the distance between my left side and the bollard to stop p travelers and my left kne which got a hard knock at a good speed. The numb side did respond and I knew pain for the first time in five years.
I am able to walk but not sure how it will feel tomorrow.

take care, but don’t let it discourage you.

I hope it doesn’t stay sore for long.

If it’s any consolation I’ve had my incidents too, I bet we are not the only ones.

best wishes

Thanks Bobbi

I’m still getting used to special awareness and my damaged peripheral vision It points to not going driving again for a while. Will rest up and take it more carefully.

Oh no that’s easy done. I ran into another (parked) scooter my first time out. Thankfully the guy it belonged to wasn’t on it & was fine when I profusely apologised.

Hope you’re not too sore tomorrow. Good news that you felt the pain fir 1st time in 5 years though (I think)

Oh no, sorry to hear that. I Hope it doesn’t dent your confidence too much.
I’m sure anyone who uses a mobility scooter has a tale or two to tell :joy:

Sometime ago I did a wheelie on mine, not on purpose obviously, I tried to go up a slope too quickly and I did a wheelie and really frightened myself and haven’t used it for some time .

I hope your knee is better soon.

Keep on Keeping on :+1:

You make sure you get plenty of use out of that scooter.

It seems to me that the extra stimulus can only be good for your spacial awareness. Your time on the scooter is a work out for your vision, your concentration and coordination.

Now that has to be good. Even if you pay with an occasional bump.

Fully agree Bobbi it makes my vision change.
I’m not going to back off as it’s my only hope of independence until driving returns to me which is doubtful.
This mode of transportation is mine and cannot be stopped

Well done. It’s not a race, keep going there is so much you can and will achieve.

Congratulate yourself on what you have achieved so far. There is much more ahead of you.

Back out again today in a different place in the park on different terrain and no mistakes did a bit of road work heading home and I really felt the optical brain stimulation at 4mph which is fast enough at the moment

I wish the suspension did a better job as it is bumpy on many of the paths
