Oh, Jan! I finally got around to reading more about emotional changes after stroke. I can so relate! My sisters had to tell me I was being overly aggressive at one point. I couldn’t speak and the nurse would not look at me so I could get her attention, so I slightly pushed the wheeled table toward her. I say slightly as I could barely use a hand at the time for anything and could not yet use my arms. She had left my breakfast across the room, and lunch had come so she chided me for not eating but never moved food where I could reach it until my sisters arrived at 2 pm. I was so angry. The nurse reported me for shoving the table into her. LOL. I couldn’t speak so even if she had bothered to put a call button near me, they would have asked me what I needed and when there was no reply, ignored me. I also had a friend stick a post it note on my head to remind them I could not speak, but they ignored that as well as the big sign on the wall. Most were very good to me, but a few just were not and all that pent up frustration did come out a couple times. Scared my family because it is not something I am known for.
