Well at least you’re still here to tell the tale Mark.
I come from an age when taking risks was what you did and was the source of many adventures and scrapes too.
When things went wrong you didn’t look for someone to blame. It was a lesson to be learnt and then move on.
Things are more sensible these days I suppose. Maybe the crash hats, elbow protectors and so on that cyclists wear today are a good idea.
Yes Bobbi we are of the same era , walking stick free in church was a risk but I tried to stand tall instead of stooping so I went backwards into my wife followed by other people trying to arrest my fall.
I was up and seated within minutes and I walked down the hill and into our car will feel it tonight
When I fell over in March I was mortified as a man in his house came out having heard the thump…rest of day in A&E but no bits were injured!!! Knocked my confidence for six…but that has worn off now and lesson learnt to remember I have had a stroke and to be kinder to myself xx
So sorry to hear that … having a fall is quite a shock to the body, regardless of injury. I hope you can take time out to recover and rest. I fell in the high st last week, stroke, no one helped just walked by watching their phones … it does sound like you have a good community around you, which is lovely. Take care
@bobbi that’s actually a good idea! I’m mostly housevpbound, but I’m going to buy them, even if I look a bit odd … not vain though, so doesn’t matter. Thanks for the tip! (I don’t snowboard or surf anymore , brings back good memories though).
Sorry to hear that you were not immediately helped up by passers by my experience has been positive up here in Lancashire people have gone out of their way to support me even total strangers, even pushing my wheelchair up a slope when my wife was struggling.
Anyway I’m feeling sore but up on my feet preparing to go shopping for new pillows and a meeting with my pregnant daughter.
