Hi lovely people, was wondering if anyone has had similar symptoms?
On Friday night mum 76 experienced sudden sight loss in one eye she said her vision in her left eye went white rather than dark. She said she also had sparks of light every time she blinked. This lasted around 15 minutes then went back to normal.
The next day her eye felt "stingy"eye felt fine yesterday and stings a bit today. She didn’t have any other symptoms .
was seen in A&E had lots of tests given blood thinners to take and is being seen by the stroke team tomorrow .
As the symptoms aren’t “classic” wanted to see if anyone can relate?
I can’t relate to this but I know there are members on this forum who almost certainly will be able to give you some pointers.
From my point of view, I al so pleased to read you have already been to A&E and had your Mum checked out. That is the a very sensible thing you have done and I am pleased also that the tests haven’t identified anything serious and that a stroke team will be seeing your Mum tomorrow. All this is very positive and it is pleasing to see you have been able to “nip it in the bud”. Hopefully, after your Mum has been seen by the stroke team you will be suitably reassured and also have a good care plan in place as appropriate.
Well done for acting so FAST and I wish you and your Mum all the best.
A warm welcome to ye and your Mum to this community. Get a good night’s rest and do think about any questions you may have for the stroke team tomorrow. Write them down and ask them when you see them.
@mumshelp hi & welcome to the community. There are many people that don’t have classic symptoms but it is good that your mum has been seen & had lots of tests & is being followed up by stroke team. Hopefully they will be able to provide some further clarification for you tomorrow.
Welcome to the community, I’m sorry to hear about your mum. I hope you’ve had some answers from the stroke team and that the seeing them was helpful for your mum.

Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately we didn’t really have a great experience at the stroke clinic.
They said she doesn’t need an MRI because it was in her eye they didn’t even examine the back of her eye they just said “yep definitely a TIA” increased her statins and said the lady that will scan your neck is off today we will give you a call to reschedule". I understand they see this day in day out but literally in and out no explanation, advice they forgot how scary it is for the person going through it
I had sudden double vision asa passenger, two cars coming towards us side by side. Diagnosed as TIA after a pressure spike. The Eye Hospital gave me a prism for one eye to correct it and it resolved itself after a couple of months.
