hi all, haven’t posted for a while. I am
14 months into my stroke journey, and am getting increasingly anxious as to my mental health, I find myself forgetting really important things I have been
doing , like booking tradesmen to come,
not remembering watching a programme
if it is reapted the next day, and conversation with people etc.
I am still suffering extreme fatigue, and anxiety daily ,I was offered CBT counselling classes but was unable to cope with the amount of content involved.
I also get more words wrong now, than before. I imagine some of you will have experienced these things, and would appreciate your feedback. I am also developing more problems that didn’t originally occur after my stroke muscle pain, choking on the smallest things,
heighten, sensitivity to sound, light, taste, smell, noise. difficulty sleeping the list just keeps growing.

Hi @richfinn sorry to hear of your difficulties. I wonder if you should get checked over by a Dr. Some of it could be from your stroke but there could equally be something else going on.
Have you been doing more recently? Perhaps that is brings on your symptoms. I know when I am fatigued my stroke symptoms get worse. Have a look at stroke decompensation. It might be that.
My advice would be to get checked over for peace of mind.
Best wishes
Ann

thanks unfortunately my GP has always put nearly everything about my health down to stress, even my arthritis.
I think he missed his calling, and should have been a psychiatrist
