Feeling very exhausted and still suffering Acid Reflux , today I was advised to try Nexium as I keep feeling sickly. The decision I need to make is ….is it wise to go ahead with our 5 day coach holiday on Saturday, which is only two weeks from the day I had the TIA. Sometimes I feel well, then suddenly tiredness sweeps over me. Been looking forward to a break for weeks now part of me thinks I should go and enjoy having meals made for me. Never felt in such a quandary. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
Stay well everyone, the stroke path doesn’t seem it’s going to be easy to navigate
Hi @DaisyKate as a sufferer of silent reflux and knowing the damage it done to dental health and how some days felt rotten would continue with Nexium of speak with a GP to have a PPI to see if this helps. not a fan of any prescription drugs but after a few days the difference a PPI made was night and day. If you do decide to go hope you have a great and relaxing time.
Oh that is such a shame but if you aren’t going to enjoy it then that is probably the right decision. You can rearrange for when you feel more up to it.
Hi so much help from here I’m hoping for some advice on food. Struggling to even chew food and having to force myself to swallow , even porridge which I usually love is a struggle.. My mouth feels sour and I keep wishing for a fizzy drink but have nothing in the house. Tiredness I can cope with, sleeping often then walking round the house to wake up. Will try again for a surgery appointment but already feel it will be a waste of time. It is now over two weeks since the TIA and I want to feel normal again!
Food can taste different after a TIA/Stroke. Hopefully it’ll settle soon for you. I know after my stroke there were some things that just tasted vile but it did settle.
You will start to feel more like you again in time but patience is definitely required. It is a major event that has happened to you & you need to allow time for healing. You will get there…Just take it one day at a time.
