I’ve never used a dating site. My wife and I met on a game site online and decided to meet up in town. It all went well.
That was twenty five years ago and eventually we got married. We have been through all that life throws at you along with a stroke four years ago.
We are human beings, up and down and all over, but we have stayed together. Here for one another.
I was able bodied when we started but we manage to cope with the limitations we now experience. We are both in our late seventies and hope we will be here for each other for a long time yet.
When we both met for the first time I was acutely aware that we were both vulnerable. We met in a very public place. We were comfortable with one another. We shared further meetings together and things carried on smoothly.
Despite this I can see how easy it could be to be hurt, misled and even a victim of intentional harm. All I can say is take it slow, find your way, make choices you are happy with, even be prepared to have to cut your losses.
Being first time lucky isn’t guaranteed.
keep on keepin on
(maybe meeting on a game site is a little less pressured than a dating site. You meet a number of people informally. No need to judge or be judged. I don’t know. I think a dating site would be less natural and quite easily give a false impression.)
I think what @Mrs5K said about keeping your wits about you is very right
and as @IreneFC says “Good luck and Merry Christmas when it comes.”
@Bobbi Lovely story and great advice for the safety aspect. I have been with my wife for 20 years, through everything and hope to be until I leave this earth. Merry Christmas when it comes Your story uplifted me
