Hi my name is Julie, I suffered 3 Cerebeller strokes in October last year, I spent 5 days in hospital after the 3rd stroke they did an MRI which confirmed them, before that they thought it was vertigo and sickness.
Iam doing well but still get very dizzy and have trouble with my ears, I think it’s Auditory overload as loud noises cause me headaches and I also can’t hear close by voices. I feel very scared of it happening again, I am on 4 diff medications and I came off HRT tablets and had horrendous Hot flashes so my doctor has given me Gel now which is helping. I get lots of headaches and body aches and Just wondered if anyone has gone through or is going through tge same as it feels very lonely at times
Welcome to the community. Sorry to hear about your strokes.
What are your symptoms now? How have you recovered?
I am really good considering it wasn’t diagnosed until the 3rd one but I struggle with head pains and dizziness
@Juls2085 Hi & welcome to the community. Sorry to hear of your strokes but hope you find the forum a great place for support & advice.
Whilst it probably doesn’t feel like it you are still very early in your recovery journey yet & some of the symptoms you describe are fairly common.
I had dreadful dizziness after my stroke (it was also the 1st symptom of my stroke along with nausea). I still get it now but to a lesser extent & it is worse when I have overdone things.
I still get sensory overload 3 years on. I bought some loop earplugs to help me cope with noise when I am out & about.
There will be others along to share tgeir experiences I am sure. Feel free to ask any questions you have & share your experiences.
Best wishes
Ann

Hi Julie - i am julie also and I had a hemorrhagic stroke in October last year - I have a lot of issues and dizziness and vertigo are amongst them. I just wanted to let you know it is lonely but there are others out there who can empathise with what you are experiencing.
Take care
Julie
Shwmae Julie, welcome to the cerebellar stroke club, a very rare stroke. I had one four years ago, it affects the vestibular system (balance) and the oculomotor system (sight) and much, much more. A very under-researched part of the brain which has its own syndrome, “Cerebellar cognitive affective syndrome”. If you search cerebellum or cerebellar in the magnifying glass on this forum you will find lots about cerebellar stroke, a lot posted by me. Feel free to ask any questions.
Thanks Ann I will look into this plugs x
Thanks Julie its nice to know your not alone in this journey x
Thanks Rups will do x
Hi Julie, welcome to the community and thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds like you’ve been through a lot, and it’s completely understandable to feel worried at times. You’re not alone, and I hope you find support and connection here with others who can relate.
Thank you it means a lot x
Hi @Juls2085 sorry to hear about your strokes, just wanted to say a big welcome to our community.
We are a merry band of stroke survivors who have suffered lots of different types of strokes and we are all on very different roads to recovery. There is always someone here to offer information and advice. So jump on and ask away.
Stroke recovery can be a long and difficult journey but being part of this community is worth it’s weight in gold and although my stroke was 8 years ago, it is still my “go to” place if I need some advice when things get tough or if I need to have a rant. Nothing compares to speaking to people who know what you are going through. So remember you are not alone.
Look forward to hearing from you as your road to recovery continues.
Regards
Sue
