Hi all just been told by doctors I need to have breast screened, any men had this done my lump is getting bigger, any info thanks mick
My hubby had this done a few years back. He attended a clinic and had numerous tests done on the day & was given the results the same day. The only exception to this would have been if a biopsy was needed. Fortunately for my hubby, as he had only just had a cancer op for a different cancer, he didn’t need the biopsy & all was ok.
Good luck with your tests & fingers crossed all is ok for you.

Thanks for that, my daughter said they will do various tests on me as I will be with them 3/6 hours, finding it hard to tell my grandchildren, and my cat will go berserk as I won’t be around all day, and even worse if I’m in hospital, as she never leaves my side, but she knows when I disappeared to have shower she just sits on table watching for me to come in l hope your husband is okay mick
You are just going for the tests. Do your grandchildren really need to know about this yet? If (heaven forbid) you need to go into hospital, you might want to let them know, but hang fire until then.
As for the cat, she’ll survive. Get her a nice treat when you get home.
Most of all, Don’t delay. Do it as soon as possible!
Good luck.
@Mickyboy if it was me I wouldn’t tell the grandchildren until you have the test results. You might find that it is something simple that can be sorted easily & then they would have worried unnecessarily. Of course that’s a personal choice.
If your appointment is that long it sounds like they will do lots of tests whilst you are there. That’s very usual & saves you having to go back and forth & reduces the time you are worrying. Not knowing is the worst as you imagine all sorts.
My hubby is ok thanks.
Good luck.
Ann
Hi all had tests done who says nhs is broken, seen within 15 mins of walking in had test done and it’s the dreaded c so need op and treatment plan, update to follow thanks all mick
Sorry to hear that @Mickyboy. At least you know what you’re dealing with now. Hopefully the op & treatment will be done very soon. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and good luck for the op etc.
If you are able & want to please let us know how you are getting on.
Best wishes
Ann
Would like that a lot thanks mick
@Mickyboy have been thinking about you & wondering how you are doing? You don’t need to reply if you don’t wish but just know that we’re thinking of you. Take care x
Fed up and getting over a chest infection which came out of nowhere, been for my first radiotherapy where they measure and mark where to do treatment, which starts Monday, for 3 weeks such a lonely time and so dreary and cold,
Good luck with your treatment. I hope it goes well for you. Hope your chest infection clears away too. The joys of winter bugs.
Best of luck.
Ann
Hello still trying to shake of this infection slowly, not really looking forward to radiotherapy but needs doing trying to stay upbeat but it’s hard just don’t need anymore pain plus side effects of tablets, only one I can depend on is my cat as she won’t leave my side, grandkid are great just have to see how it goes lonely trip this one thanks for your support m
I’ve never had radiotherapy but people i know who have have found it to be ok. Hopefully that’ll be the same for you. It’s very important you have it done and i’m sure the nursing team will look after you well.
You can always rely on a pet when the chips are down. They’re great.
Good luck and hope your infection clears soon.

5 more sessions of radiotherapy then done hope all cancer cells have gone, radiography says only takes one cell to escape and could travel elsewhere, will I did ask and wanted to know, today’s one was quite long and different but at least the room was warm, feeling the cold now and getting tired easily, need to get back into my routine now Xmas is over, bloody cancer 24/25 what a year still haven’t had my flu jab yet hope you are all well happy new year
Happy new year @Mickyboy i hope this year brings good things your way.
Not too much longer till you’re through the radiotherapy. Fingers crossed it has done its job. I guess you’ll have a check up after your treatment is finished where any further treatments, if any, will be discussed. I’m sure the radiotherapy is probably making you very tired.
Sending lots of positive thoughts & my best wishes.
Take care
Ann
I do hope so but the way I’m feeling right now is not great, had a bit longer session Friday and it really knocked me sideways, glad I’m coming to the end now just have to wait and see how it all went, and see what happens next mick
