i did deluxe waffle this week and got 4*s which is really good for me.
Sorry to hear your mum had another bad night. It’s a shame she can’t tell you exactly what is making her like that. Here’s hoping she is more settled tonight.
Lunch was good and always nice to catch up with everyone.
Thinking about the protagonists in Mum’s life, and ruling out Sundown syndrome based on gut feel, we are back to the old favourites - trapped wind and related to that constipation.
Trapped wind is also looking less likely as she is now burping and also our tried and tested techniques to relieve her of trapped wind no longer yield any output (of significance) and so it now looks as though we need to address a possible constipated little Trooper. To that end, we do have at hand some constipation relief medication that has worked in the past.
The plan is to use this once or twice a week for a month or so and see how things go.
Fingers crossed the constipation relief meds help settle your mum again.
Today’s puzzles were okish. I nearly blew waffle but managed it with 1* remaining. Phew.

We believe it is acid reflux as a result of Omeprazole changes. We will soon know as we have restarted it. Poor Mum!

Hello Ann - I must admit, for the first time I now feel less confident about what I think is happening with Mum. Until now, I felt I knew exactly what was happening and how best to deal with it.
These last few days have been very challenging and I am beginning to doubt.
Today hasn’t been great, as soon after breakfast, the episode of “acid reflux” occurred, but Mum did eventually settle down. Then the rest of the day we just kept her comfortable and ditched her routine schedule going into reactive mode for when she needed some help.
By mid-afternoon she was looking OK and so I took her out for some fresh air and UV light exposure. She was fine with the outing and OK for a while after that. She has shown the occasional sign of discomfort and the odd outburst but without obvious cause. After the breakfast incident we decided to stop the feed and just kept her hydrated. We hope this will help detoxify her body and she will feel better tomorrow assuming she manages to get a good nights rest.
I also managed to give her 30 minutes on the leg exerciser at 7.30 pm before the final care call and she was totally fine with that and even managed to self adjust her feet when they slipped off the pedals - really pleasing to see. In some ways she is showing some really amazing things which we have not seen for a while and that gives me tremendous joy but then she has these periods when she drifts off and I start getting concerned.
Despite all that I managed to get the puzzles done and in fact they were quite routine in the end. I did the trick of letting the brian work in the background by showing it the boards and then going to help Mum or suchlike and just before I did this update I finished them off.
Well done you on the wordle solution - very impressive and also the continuation of the Silver streak and the Connections.

Not seen the weather forecast, but I have been meaning to trim the apple tree as it is too big and they advise pruning or whatever it is called. So we’ll see.
Sorry to hear that you’re going through a difficult patch with your mum. I really hope things settle very soon. It’s possible that there is something else going on other than the acid reflux but it it must be difficult to try and work out what because your mom isn’t able to tell you herself. I don’t know whether she’s able to express herself with her hands but if she could maybe you could try showing her some pictures of different body parts or ailments and she could point out the bit that’s causing the issue? Not sure if this will work there’s just something that popped into my mind. I know your mum isn’t a medication person but maybe it might be worth trying some pain relief meds of some description and seeing if they help.
Well done on doing the puzzles yesterday despite everything that was going on. I did okay with today’s puzzles again.

Wordle waa getting close. I didn’t get any letters ony 1st two attempts. But at least it narrowed down the options for me. Then it was a case that it could have been a few different options. 5 attempts in the end.

Connections took a bit of working out today. I got the yellows quickly and i then had a couple of ideas for other connections. I has 2 or 3 words for those ideas so I put them to one side and looked at what that left me with then took a punt on the 4th connection. A correct punt as it turned out. I did have to look up Luffy though aa had never heard of it.

Hi Ann - well done on solving the puzzles.
I did the wordle - easy enough in 5 tries after two blanks to start with. Connections hasn’t even started yet as I can’t see any links. If I get any I’ll update else, I give it up as a loss.
No tree pruning.
Another not so good day.
Called 111 and spoke to a Dr. on the phone and waiting for a follow-up or home visit from duty doctor.

Hope you don’t have to wait too long for the dr to call back or visit & more importantly that they can do something for your mum to make her mire comfortable. She’s definitely having a bad spell & it must be very difficult for you & your sister. Not just seeing her like that but also not being able to help her.
We called this lunchtime (1pm) and after initial phone call which was fairly quick, they seemed to have downgraded the severity and the duty doctor is on his way and we should get seen by 9pm
He already indicated he may refer back to GP - we called 111 because we got worried as Mum’s troubles have continued even after the GP/Rapid Response visits in the last couple of weeks with no sign of improvements.
It is what it is and Mum seems happy for now as she is now on water only having struggled with breakfast again.
Did you manage to get your mum sorted? Hope the Drs were able to help and that you can now start to get your mum settled again.
