I think sometimes the connections just won’t come no matter how much you look at them. I got todays bur had a few hiccups on the way.

I think they throw in a couple of possible connections for each group just to throw us out. I often get 3 words then find the 4th one tricky.
I had a hiccup with the purple today but got them all so pleased with that. Did have to think hard though.

Interesting observations Ann, especially about the vowels. I wonder why that might be?
For me, the Wordle was done in a couple of minutes after the first set on connections I let the brain solve in the background and sure enough the answer came (quite quickly and easily as it happens).
Apologies if there are spelling or grammatical errors in this reply - I am not wearing my glasses I am seeing if I can work the eye muscles and change the prescription. As I understand it the eye is a muscle and it can be exercised as with other muscles.
I once saw an interview with Paul McCartney when he said he was shown an eye exercise by the Maharishi when they were in India during their Hippy phase an dhe does this every day and has neer needed glasses
It’s woth a try. It doesn’t cost anything and if anythng it is yet something else for my brain to have to sove and work on

Well done on getting connections and wordle. Considering you weren’t wearing your glasses there are very little spelling mistakes and yes I think you’re right eyes are a muscle and can be worked and you just never know you might need a lesser prescription or no glasses at all if you get on well. I do eye exercises most days to try & improve my double vision.
I’ve had a little Vit D top up too after finishing work. 
I struggled with connections today. Even the first one I found difficult as knew 3 of the 4 but the 4th one I just took a random lucky guess i got them all in the end so happy with that.

I must say I could have done better - I can’t claim I didn’t know the operas or the Reals and so it was a goof on my part but this game is taking longer to get into the groove, but I feel we are making progress.

I am toying with using today’s solution as tomorrow’s starter (if I can remember it that is )
I never picked up on the reals either. It was my last match so was by default. The operas just suddenly jumped out at me and that helped a lot.
Using today’s word as your starter tomorrow might work well. I wonder if there is any sort of link. An interesting experiment perhaps.
It was a big phew with Wordle today. Just about got the word on my last attempt. Whoops.

Connections I found a little tricky. I got the yellow category ok but took me a while to work out anything else. I did however use some earlier learned tactics and looked at the completely random words (that looked like they didn’t belong to anything) and started to look at part words which is how I then got the purple category. I thought one of the connections was in relation to Bulls (only because Taurus is my star sign) but didn’t really know which of the words fitted into it so was glad that was the default last category.

I have been doing OK on the Waffles though I have had a couple of fails, but I think I am not trying too hard with these. Maybe I need to start aiming for the 5 * finishes to help me achieve better results rather than just finishing it.

I think I might try your suggestion on waffle. I got it today with 1 star left. Try and aim for 4 or 5 tomorrow.
Well done - I think you have got the hang of connections. It should be easier with your brain having adjusted to recognising the way they work.
I haven’t even got going yet. Used a go and got nothing so still scratching my head, but might have to accept the loss as a part of the learning curve.
Well it’s nearly the end of the day and I remembered I hadn’t solved the daily puzzles. I thought I’d have one last attempt and then call it a day.
Much to my amazement, after about 10 minutes I cracked the purple group and then a few minutes later the orange group and then the green leaving the blue as the default. It took about 15 minutes in the end, but incredibly the brain must have been working in the background and here we have proof. I am stunned!

Wordle went better. My 2nd guess helped a lot especially as I got all the letters in the right order just in the wrong space. It still gave a few options but I chose the right one. Yay.

Today’s connections went ok. I got the first 2 (green & Yellow) fairly quickly. The purple ones I just chose some random words that didn’t look like names which left one name and I just randomly picked one to add to the category and it was pure luck that it was the correct one. The last category then defaulted. I’m sort of thought there was a detective connection to the blue but beyond Holmes and Drew I didn’t know the other 2. But end result very happy as got them all.
