I am grateful to be able to write this note to say today has been possibly the best Mother’s Day ever.
Nearly seven years ago it was the worst Mother’s Day ever has Mum was in hospital following her stroke and the prognosis was not good.
Two weeks ago tomorrow, Mum was again admitted to hospital for issues related to her stroke, the care of which has been very poorly managed by the healthcare professionals and you might imagine that whilst we might put a brave face on it, any time Mum is taken to hospital is hugely stressful as we are always given worst case scenario which in Mum’s case really is the worst case.
Anyway, on Friday night/Saturday morning after 15 hours waiting to be discharged, we brought her home and settled her back in her bed. Yesterday she rested well and today, whilst we did nothing special per se, it was just wonderful to be able to sit with Mum and enjoy the day. Mum had all her children with her today and she has been a picture of health and happiness for which we are truly grateful.
I hope all you lovely Mothers out there had an equally wonderful day.
