I have created this post as a welcome to MrsG who has recently joined as a new member.
MrsG joined by posting a response to an existing post (see link beliw) which is quite deep now and I felt her response offers excellent advice that might be missed especially if someone new is seeking advice on the subject. So I took the liberty …

Hello @MrsG - welcome to the forum and nice to meet you.
It’s good to have you here and I am sure you will have experiences you can share with us ![]()
33 years in one place easily beats my dream of staying 25 years in one place (work place that is) and fairly rare in this day and age I should imagine. Hopefully you got some badges during the 33 year spell e.g. 10 year, 20 year and 30 year and maybe a 25 year silver jubilee ![]()
My guess is you must have loved working there given you stayed 33 years and it may have been a wrench when you were made redundant. Looks like you may have got over it now which is good.
I hope that your stroke wasn’t brought about as a result of you being made redundant, but it is nice to hear you say you are pleased you don not have the stress of work to worry about after the stroke. It’s great you are spending time in the garden and with family and friends or whatever takes your fancy!!
Wishing you all the best ![]()
