I’m not surprised that she’s not said a word after all that she’s been through. It’s been a terrible experience for her. Glad that she’s sleeping though. Does she know how many people here are rooting for her and wishing her well? I hope that some answers are found soon and that she can return home - best wishes to your mum, you and all of family.

Thanks for the update ManjiB it’s good yr mum is now sleeping. Thats a lot for anyone to go through and as I’ve said before she is lucky to have you to battle for her. I hope today is comfortable for her and there is improvement as we all know this takes time though. I don’t suppose you will get much more information before Monday now that seems to be the way of things.

Thinking of you and yr Mum.

Just to keep you posted, Mum has been stable and scans and tests are not showing anything that would concern. She is considered [nearly] “medically fit” and has tolerated the hospital environment well. She has now been moved from Acute Care to Elderly care and due to various factors, the doctors are reluctant to keep her in and would like to discharge her to community care asap.

Unfortunately, they have not found the root cause of her ailments but feel there may be nothing they can do and so any further investigations/troubleshooting might be best done in the “safer” home environment i.e. hospital is full of patients passing viruses to each other and flu and covid are rife. We have already been exposed to Covid as one of the ward patients came up positive and so we await the trigger that will activate the virus that we might now be incubating.

Will keep you posted and thanks for your continued support and wishes and I am sure Mum is feeling them coming through the ether

Hello Rocks

Just a quick note (for now) to say Mum is back home, safe and sound.
We brought her back on Tuesday after a failed discharge.

Sadly this particular visit has taken a lot more out of her than we would have liked and she will likely need longer to recover from the trauma (and she is traumatised) of being in hospital that included amongst other things lying on a trolley in a corridor, asking for help non-stop for 4 hours and “being ignored”, having fingers pricked every few hours for blood tests that mean nothing, BP readings that mean nothing etc. etc.

I will bring you all up to date when I can, but for now, she is home, she has a brand new riser recliner chair that is much more comfortable for her than her old one and she is back in her own environment with carers who are better able to respond to her needs and of course no constant disturbances for meaningless tests.

Lovely news ManjiB. Sorry to hear your mum is traumatised tho from what you say it’s not surprising. Im sure she feels better for being home - nowhere like home - and obviously with you and family looking after her.

Yes please say how it goes - I’ll. be thinking of her and you im sure we all will.

Good to hear your mum is back home & I hope she settles from the traumatic experience soon. I am sure she will be better off at home. Hospital just isn’t a nice environment for anyone.

Take it easy.

No wonder her doctor was so reluctant for her to go into hospital in the first place. Yes your mum is strong and fit for her age but going through all that does take its on her body and mind. I hope she is getting now getting over that trauma now she’s back in the comfort of her home and loving family.
