Bad couple of days

My stroke was Nov 30th and think I have made good progress. Been out for lunch, met a friend for a coffee, driven short distances. Have had a few off days too. This week felt generally improved.
Thurs afternoon after going for coffee understandably fatigued. Cooked evening meal but couldn’t eat it, nausea, mild headache.
Yesterday mild headache, nausea fatigue all day. Did make bread, cooked and ate tea after paracetamol. Went to bed early and felt dreadful nausea, headache, not bad, felt unwell. BUT I do have health anxiery which kicks in too.
Did meditation, slept till 2am felt better. Now okish but very tired and under the weather.
Husband has appt re triple by pass Tuesday, could be stress too. Do things like this happen??

Yes, things like this happen. You have done quite a bit for someone who is only 3 months post stroke & your symptoms are likrky fatigue related. Fatigue isn’t just being extra tired. I get headaches, nausea, dizziness etc with my fatigue. The worry of your hubby’s appointment will also play a part too.

Rest a bit more & hopefully you’ll improve.

Best of luck for your hubby’s appointment too.

Ann thank you, I had sort of gleaned from some posts that you “pay the price” for doing too much. It is an unkind thought, but such a relief that you’ve had similar.
I looked in my diary and had similar for 3 days the end of December, had forgotten it went on so long. Am finding radio plays via YouTube aren’t too taxing, but having told hubby twice I’m not up to a credit card post mortem,I think he’s finally got the message.
Just realised only 7 weeks since my stroke, feels longer.
Thanks for your response, Wendy

@Bagrat
Hi yes fatigue isnt just about tiredness as im discovering. My stroke was early December, few days ago i did too much during the day. I knew instantly id overdone things, my head felt heavy, stiffness i get was worse than normal. I suffered nausea, headache too, could hardly sleep which didn’t help yesterday. Took a day and half to recover. Im back to feeling good again today. For me is about pacing myself and taking breaks when i feel symptons getting worse.

Hopefully you will improve with more rest

Hope all goes well with your hubby’s appointment

I had my stroke at the beginning of September, and was told by the stroke doctor at the hospital that don’t overdo anything in the early stages, he said I would suffer from headaches and I have , although generally mild ones, he said I would feel tired and unbalanced at times, which I have, but now mostly recovered .
After a n MRI scan I was told I had had a probable focal seizure as well, I knew nothing of the stroke or the seizure as they both happened while I was asleep, but almost all my symptoms have now disappeared, with just my fine eyesight yet to correct itself.
My long winded reply was meant to say, take things easy, if you feel tired, rest or sleep, it’s your body/brain telling you what you need, your husband’s situation will probably intensify your anxiety, but try to isolate your natural anxieties from your problems, it will be difficult, but less stress and more relaxing will help.

@Injebreck99 thank you, wise words and I will do my best, to compartmentalise my anxiety from my recovery.

Just quick update, re hubby. He saw a different surgeon today re his major heart surgery. He is keen, considering his hubbie’s cognitive dysfunction,to refer him for a much less invasive procedure. There will be another angiogram and consult to see if he’s suitable. If he is my stress levels will stay down to acceptable levels.

Fingers crossed the less invasive procedure is suitable for your husband.

Best wishes
